Well for the past 2 weeks or so, my car has been getting slower and slower it seems. No matter if i try to gradually accelerate or put it to the floor, its nowhere near as quick as it use to be. And sometimes when i'm sitting at a light, if i have to stop kinda suddenly the car will either cut off or try to, but tonite i changed the sparkplugs and it hasn't tried to cut off yet, so that might have solved the problem, but the slowness of the car is still there. Anyone else have this problem? and what can i do about it? By the way my car has 75,000 miles on it if that helps out any, thanx for any advice you guys have for me.
P.s. I did search but didn't find anything that really sounded like my problem

The newer civics get old faster. Mine only has 17K and I already had to do the following maintenance items. It hasn't helped too much with the slowness, but it does some good.
-change plugs
-clean or replace air filter
-oil change
-tire pressure 30psi
-transmission flush
-fuel injector cleaner

I'll be taking it to Honda soon. They think a bad O2 sensor may be causing the engine to run rich. That would explain low mileage and plug fouling. Even after 2000 miles of driving cross-country, everything was dirty. Oil, air filter, tranny fluid, etc. I guess they can't take too much of a beating.

Car Feels Super Sluggish! Help
Well ever since about a week ago my car has been seeming to get more and more sluggish, until tonite when i was on the highway and couldn't seem to get it to go much faster then 60-65. It feels like it should be going atleast twice as fast, if not more, then it is now. I have no clue what it is, it just acts like it doesn't want to go, it revs up like it should but just moves so slow. Any suggestions?

If you have an auto tranny, I highly recommend the tranny flush. Look in the tech section for my review. This and new NGK iridium IX spark plugs made a big difference. Before my car would feel like it's struggling, but now it feels smoother and gets off the line much quicker. I drove around for a good 30mins just testing it out and even hit vtec a few times. The car was driving much better. Oh and this is only at 17K, so I can only imagine what you're feeling. These cars are high maintenance and like everything clean to work properly.

Most say that when the ATF is blackened, brown or smells burnt, then its time to replace your ATF or perhaps seek out why its in this condition. If the fluid is in good condition(looks light red or pinkish in color) then save your money.
For the spark plugs, you can take a couple of them out and look at their condition. They should be brownish/tan in color and the electrode should be uncorroded. There should be no oil wetness, or black carbon build up. When re-installing them make sure you check the gap.
Other things it could be, among many other things:
Clogged fuel filter or air filter
Marginally working fuel pump
Marginally working torque converter
Misc sensor not working right

Thanx you guys for all the suggestions. But on a hunch i decided to check the cat right at the engine, so i took the exhaust pipe off of it and got under the car with a flash light, and found out that pieces of honeycomb had broken off and was stopping the exhaust flow, so i beat around in there alittle with a screw driver and knocked all of the loose pieces out, and now the car is running perfectly, its amazing what a few little pieces of cat guts can do to mess your whole car up.
Oh by the way, before this i had been hearing some rattling coming from my engine (it ended up being the pieces of cat banging around) but didn't know what it was, so i carried it to the honda dealer, and the dumb as%es up there told me that my rod bearings were bad and i needed to pay them $500 to get them replaced, so be on the look out for idiots at the honda places...

You need a new cat if pieces were breaking off. This happened to my old car and only got worse. It's a serious emmisions problem that Honda has to fix under warranty.
Stop running over cats, man! That's gross and just plain psychotic!! J/K It was just funny to read about pieces of cat getting caught in your exhaust system.
Sorry, I'm a little HYPR today! Hmmm...
