Cutting Stock Springs???

I have heard from many people that cutting the stock spring works well and gives you just as much drop as coilovers. Is that true?? Is there any disadvantages or problems when you do this?

Other than throwing off the spring rate, riding on the bump stops, releasing the spring from the perch every time the car hits a bump, and popping the shocks in no time
No, I can't think of any bad things about cutting the springs.
Quit listening to morons and buy new springs.

LOL....yea, i would NEVER ride on cut springs, it's just not logical to do so unless u were dirt poor, which in case u still shouldn't. just get new springs, dont' risk something so stupid.

cryption should not be trusted
your springs are designed for a certian amount of coils, so when you cut one its less spring to support the same amount of weight. Think about it.

You can get a nice 2" drop on springs or get coilovers and ajust them up to 4"s. The decision is up to you.
