i was thinking maybe layers of fiberglass formed to small sections and cut to fit into the seams.. then just painted with some kind of shiny paint?
my dash is dyed with vinyl spray. looks like oem almost cuz u can feel the texture..
too bad that fiberglass is beyond my skill.. =/

Its is overlayedwith fiberglass, or maybe just polyester resin, and then sprayed and clearcoated just like you do the body of a car. . isnt that hard, just a pain in the butt getting the dash out to do it. Looks very sweet. Mine will be done SSM with carbon accents in the next month or so. I already have he stuff to do it. Just need the time.

i recently helped a friend of mine do his interior. we sanded down the interior pieces several, several times to get the texture out of them. we used filler primer in between sandings to fill in the deep indentions that you get with oem pieces. after we got it sanded down, we wet sanded three times. then another friend of ours that paints sprayed it and clear coated it. looks like fiberglass. takes time but doesnt cost a lot and the results are easily worth it
The dog told me to do it

I think the most common process when you see dashes like this is to make a complete fiberglass replacement using the original as the male mold. You see these alot in car mages and invariably they are almost all true fiberglass replacement. It's some work if you don't know what you are doing...

Hey, your welcome for using my pic.
I talked to the guy who owned that 7thgen and that whole dash is fiberglass.

The actual dash is just spray painted.... you can see where it's not shiny, and blemished.

I don't think the colors are that bad, the black steering wheel does throw it off a little bit though. IMO it looks very nbice and is something to strive to do myself someday.
Edit: And his ICE needs a serious Makeover....

I think it's pretty cool. . Steering wheel does look a bit goofy, but I'm not sure what he can do about it. I suppose he could replace it, but which color steering wheel should it be? White would make the enterior too white and blue would make it too blue.
I like the dash though. . The blue and white looks pretty clean.
