Koni Installs
For those of you who have konis installed on your car, where'd you go to get them installed at. I have my rears on already, but i need someplace to install the fronts. I've taken them to 3 places, and all 3 places didn't want to do it for me cause they didn't want to risk messin it up when they cut the stock shock sleeve. I need to install my front shocks ASAP cause I need to be in SD for importfest next month, but I won't be able to take it in to change my shocks till my car comes outta JT in about 2 weeks. Please refer me to a place that will install them and what the cost would be. Thanks in advance.

its not that hard is it? just cut it using a pipe cutter, drill a hole at the bottom and attach the konis to it. i know easier said than done but it still shouldnt be too hard. i know andrew(civichx) did it with his dad

If the San Fernando Valley (LA) is close to ya, go to Tripoint Engineering in Canoga Park. They're Koni distributors and authorized koni re-build center. They are VERY experienced with gutting the original shocks in the fronts with the Koni replacements. Their prices are good too. But as far as install, yea, be prepared to spend a little more than you want cuz it's VERY labor intensive. good luck

Ya Tri Point is good and Tony Fusch does it to. He did it for 200 and less. You can get his number from Darkside. He did Elikas shocks that i traded with her recently. You should ask her about it. Her 7thgen name is sugarplum.

yea i DIYed mine... its pretty simple to do it and there is a some margin for error... i used a hacksaw tho so it took me quite awhile... it would be a lot easier if u have a pipe cutter for cutting the shocks...
all you have to do is drill the bottom
pour out the fluid
cut the shock
take out the cartridge
insert the koni
screw the bottom
and that's it your done!!
