the bolt pattern should be the same. i took my old lx header off and tried to put on a ex header to make sure before i went out and bought a dc sports header for an ex, the only problem ur going to have is the O2 sensors
I want to add to this,i have questions also and theres so many threads and my answers are so spread out that i did not find them. I know the answers to some but i want to make sure i understand everything.
The HP and kamazi headers come with what? (racing, not shorty)
Both headers above replace the catalytic converter?
Which one might pass emmissions over the other? (someone in maryland passed emmissions with the HP)
Someone said the HP doesn't have a cat whatsoever is this true?
Dont care about gains, i bet they are both very very similar. But what is the HP and the kamikaze made out of?? Stainless steel?
Has anyone used header wrap on either of these headers? If so will it void both warranties. kamikaze's and HP's?
One last question, whats the best legal aftermarket header to get. Is there anything else out there?

Also does a downpipe replace the cat? I saw one on ebay once and it didn't look like it would replace the CAT so if i got the HP shorty header and that downpipe, that would be legal correct?
i have an lx and the stock cat is incorporated on the exhaust manifold so when i put on my kamikaze header it no longer had a cat since it was replaced with the header.....and with that u will defiantely fail emissions test

2. HP has a downpipe that looks like a cat converter. Keep in mind TopSpeed has a header that replaces the cat, too.
3. Since when do header wraps void warranties on a header?
4. Any legal aftermarket header SUCKS. If you want legal, go DC.

Like I said - anything that replaces the cat is illegal in most states.
HP's comes with a 4-1 header with a "high flow cat" but technically it's a downpipe. Given the size of the header, it does not look like the stock EX downpipe.
Kamikaze's 4-1 header for the LX is a 2-piece set-up similar to HP's but with no "high flow cat". It just hooks up to the LX exhaust system.

Conversions go like this. Here are the things you need.
LX---->EX: Header, EX front anti sway bar for clearance of the downpipe/cat, EX exhaust
EX---->LX: Header, LX exhaust
Don't think using an LX Kamikaze header on an EX is a bad thing. The Kamikaze header is one of the best parts for our engines period.
Is the TopSpeed header a one piece unit that incorporates the cat as well? Does it address the "check engine" light problem as well? If so can someone provide me a contact for them.
On my last 7th Gen (01 DX Sedan) I had purchased a Heddman header (whatever they call their sport compact line up, I think it started with a "C") but sent it back when I found out it didn't have the cat/downpipe attachement (in Canada the aftermarket dealers constantly get screwed up with the whole DX, LX, SI, SIR thing). Every exhaust shop wanted to cut up my pipes, I just wanted a bolt-on so when i traded the car in (every two years) i could put the stock stuff back on quickly.
My new 7th Gen (03 Coupe LX) has the same awful stock manifold set-up but what I hear is that since 01 they have made some headers that are much better. If someone has feedback on a decent set-up please let me know (I have the Ractive axle back syetm to go with it).
To clarify here's what I mean by decent:
a) is not a cheap piece of *&@#
b) is legal, meaning incorporates a cat
c) won't trip the check engine light, has proper fitment for O2 sensors, not a bypass simulator to "get around it".
d) one that a Honda dealer feels comfortable installing and not voiding the warranty (my dealer is very liberal, if they install parts they with maintain the warranty).
e) not looking for 20 Hp or anything, a moderate 3-5 is all I need to let it flow a bit.
f) has good idle quality, I will not put my foot on the pedal to keep my car idling.
If anyone has any info please let me know. I have searched this site many times and have found alot of incomplete info on the subject.
Thanks.

TopSpeed's header is quite new. Like the HP header, it's two pieces except the header is a shorty. The other part is the downpipe and cat converter. I dunno if it addressed the check engine light issue. As far as I know, no one has had that issue with that header.
No Honda dealer is gonna install a header that replaces the stock cat. (Then again, you live in Canada soooo...) I seriously doubt you'll get that type of luxory unless they've specifically told you that they'll leave your warranty alone if they do install it.
I dunno about Canada's laws in terms of emissions, but you're not gonna find the perfect header for your car.
a) Kamikaze, HP, TopSpeed
b) Incorporates a cat but NOT US 50-state legal (HP, TopSpeed). Otherwise, none
c) None
d) DC
e) No header alone will give you 20HP. That's guaranteed. DC's header won't give you that. Most of the headers we're talking about give you around 10-15.
f) WTF? Damn, WTH did Heddman do to you?

. . . he replaced the stock header with a high flow cat?
Yes, it is part of it. So you can't use it with a new header.
But I believe there are members here who have swapped their LX/DX exhaust system with an EX exhaust system (so they'll have a cat). But I believe you'll need to change the front sway bar (on an LX/DX) with an EX front sway bar.
