I think that's the header and high flow cat for the EX, not the LX. You put that copper gasket between the header and high flow cat (for the EX). There is only one piece (ther header) for the LX.

The nuts and gasket I was talking about is for the bottom of the kamikaze header that connect to the rest of your piping.

Ask the guys who are installing it for you. Talk to them about it before you have them install it. Just in case they don't have the parts, you can go to NAPA, or Checkers, or any auto parts store. They should have it.

I'm not sure. I remember reading a post about this. Someone said you can add some kind of solution in your gas so that when it exits out your exhaust, it'll smell different. Then I read you can't really smell the difference on the 7th gens. Unless the person smelling it is an expert or something.

aight. so really my choices are as followed:
A) I could buy the LX Kamikaze header, get a universal high flow cat, then get an EX, not lx, exhaust

OR

B) get LX kamikaze header and LX exhaust with mil eliminator

so which one is better or which one would u suggest?

It depends whether or not you want to go legal. I'd go with B because you can always switch out the header and put back the stock one (if you DIY).

then I would say go with option B and go with a full intake and Exhaust. The AEM V2 is a good CAI and I LOVE my Thermal R&D Exhaust. Don't bother with an EX exhaust, go with a full cat back from Thermal. www.thermalrd.com you can see pics of it in my member rides

Agreed. Just get the Kamikaze header for your LX and an aftermarket exhaust made for the LX.

I thought the AEM V2 was said to not gain as much as the other intakes for the 7th gen civics? Oh well.

Good luck fennel.

So what would he need to do in order to keep in legal then? Cuz I too have an LX and want to stick some headers on there, but I wasn't exactly sure how to do that and still keep it legal. So all help would be much appreciated.

The only way I know to keep it legal, is to buy an aftermarket exhaust system (header, high flow cat, cat and cat-back exhaust, I think) made for an EX. But here's the thing, because the EX's cat sit under the car (around the front sway bar) you'd also need to swap your LX front sway bar with an EX front sway bar.

Here a picture of the EX front sway bar. Notice how it curves up pretty high and wide for the cat.

And here's a picture of an LX front sway bar. Not a very good pic, but my guess is that the curve isn't as high or as wide as the EX front sway bar.

But I've also heard that it's illegal if you remove or replace a cat that's already working fine. Not sure.

Alright, well thanks guys I think I'll just go ahead and save up and buy headers, a high flow cat, cat-back exhaust and front sway bar all for the EX. That way I can go ahead and keep my car legal (hopefully), boost my hp a little and already be all set up to put on any EX cat-back exhaust I want.

I read someones post in your other thread about Kamikaze and HP headers being illegal. I think I remember reading something like the only CARB legal header is the DC Sport (?) header. Might want to check up on these things before you buy the parts.

Well $#it, that sux. From what I've heard DC headers don't really do squat. I thought that the only thing that made the headers illegal on an LX was the fact that they removed the cat-converter. Ah well, I guess you're right, looks like it's back to researching a bit before I blow my money on stuff that will make my car illegal. Thanks again man.

No problem. I would just get the Kamikaze header and an aftermarket exhaust for your LX. Then when it comes time for your inspection, you can just switch out the header. Good luck though!

And yah, the DC header isn't that much bigger than stock so don't waist your money on that .

Thats what I'll probably end up doing, though I just e-mailed the guys at bigjoshracing.com hoping that they might be able to shed a little light on whether or not all the mods I wanna make to my car (in terms of Kamikaze headers) would be legal or not if I went ***** out and got the sway bar and everything else. So we'll see what they say, I'll post the reply I get here so that all LX owners can benefit from it

Yah, Robert (from bigjoshracing.com) is a cool guy to talk to. He helps out a lot. Any question you have, he'll do his best to answer. You know he's a member on this site too, right? His name is bigjoshracing. But I think it's best to just email him.

And yes, definitely post the reply you get.

Oh wow, I didn't know he was a member here too, that's awesome. I'll have to keep that in mind in case I have a quick question and he happens to be signed on. All your help's been much appreciated man, seeing as how I'm a newbie here and fairly new to customizing my car. But yeah, once I get a reply I'll post it. Oh, and by the way, how do you feel about projector headlights? I was thinking about getting some, but was told I'd be better off just saving up for a HID kit. So I was wondering if that'd be my best option.

i'm sure happy i have an ex and not a lx/hx/dx, was much easier to do a header for my car, no o2 sensor on it, and you can smell it if you dont have a cat on there, if you have an ex you can get a header and a downpipe (but put the cat back on for emissions testing) or you can just go with a random tech hi flow cat, i dunno bout lx/dx/hx cause thats a whole dif set up

Well, I guess it's just personal preference. I mean, if you want looks and a brighter beam, then go for the projectors. Because you can put on HIDs later on. But if you just want a bright beam, then just go for the HIDs.

projectors look great. i have some on my car and just added something that was missing with the stock lights, plus you can upgrade to mtec bulbs and get a way cleaner beam. ithink i prefer the look.. light pattern is nice ithink hid"S are a waste of $ i imean 500-600
dollars is way too much to spend on some lights. think of the stuff you could do with the extra $ you save!!!!

Yeah I'm really tempted to get myself some projectors now, the only thing is that I've heard that they tend to fog up or the bulbs burn out really fast. What brand of projectors would you recommend?

Hey Transplant, check out this thread:

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...header+install

The car is an LX sedan, so there was no need for the EX front sway bar.

Even though you were probably going to just buy the Kamikaze header for you LX, I decided to post this link just in case you decide to go with buying an EX exhaust system instead.
