6th gen swap
I am looking to put a b18c5 (itr) into my gf 6thgen coupe. The only problem is that it is an automatic. is this going to be a pain the *** for me to do (or have done)?

will that even work? the itr only came with a 5-speed tranny, i believe you have to swap the whole thing. just like when you swap the dc5/type s motor into a 7th gen you have to swap out the 5-speed and the automatic for the 6-speed tranny. i would think you would have to swap the 4 speed auto for the 5-speed manual in the itr swap.

i know that i am going to have to make it a stick that why i asked. i am also going to have to add a clutch pedal as well as the stick. the engine comes with the munual tranny so i have that taken care of. if it is going to be too much of a bich i will just keep my car turbo it instead of trading with her.

i have talked to some other people about it and it is going to be a bit of a pain in the *** and costly to do, so i am just going to boost my car. and maybe later i will work on her ride.
actually to change from auto to stick isnt that hard. You should talk to the people at HASport about it. Thats what they had to do on their 7thgen civic...they said that it wasnt all that difficult, maybe just time consuming. If i had a TypeR motor just sitting there, i would want to put that into my car. Turbo is good and all...but you are basically tapping your motor out with a turbo setup, unless you want to spend big bucks and rebuild the entire motor, then run a little more boost. But with a swap, especially with such an awsome motor, you have a lot more power potential to play with. For instance, i dont know what kind of 6th gen civic you have, but i will assume an EX. If you boost that, with a good amount of boost, you might be lookin at about 200whp. I got that number, cause i think thats about what most 7thgen civics are at. Anyways, somewhere around 200whp on a turbo. With the TypeR motor, a good race header, CAI, and a good exhaust with put you close to 200whp...more like a 194whp or so. Just makes more sense for someone that would want power to go with the swap. Plus, you cant beat DOHC VTEC especially in a B series motor.
Thats just my thoughts though. Im sure that you will like your car however you decide to do it.
