Problem with shifters break relay

This funny little problem came up after I put new 12 volt LED's in for my brake lights. The bulbs were a match so I assumed it would be fine, ever since then when I turn on my car and put the headlights on I hear clicking sounds coming from my shifter. When I try to push the button in without steping on the brake I am able to push it in depending on if I do it after one of the clicks. I haven't tried driving it yet because I dont know what the hell is happening or could happen on the road, if the problem might be electrical then would putting the LED bulbs in upside-down and turning on the lights a couple of times mess anything up? I really want to squash this without making another trip to the dealershit so please reply if you know anything, thanks.

If I had to guess, it sounds like your draining more voltage now that your using a bunch of LED's. The additional voltage drain is causing the gear shifter locking mechanism to think that your pressing on the brake pedal. This in turn makes the clicking noise your hearing and allowing you to shift into gear without pressing the brake pedal.

I bet if you removed the LED's it would be fine.

Yeah I thought the same but it kept happening once I put the old bulbs back in.. and even when there weren't any bulbs for brakes too. As long as its something that can wait to be fixed I'll get it checked out by my dealership next thrusday, thanks for the reply.
