Im borrowing Dereks picture because its a clear example of what im talking about, hope he doesnt mind. Anyways, if you look at the picture of his engine bay, what are the three right most hoses, the big ones not including the really small one? Are they vaccum hoses, because Ive seen people change them and was wondering what was involved and if there was a specific size hose you needed. I dont wanna wire loom them so please dont suggest that. Thanks in advance and heres the pic.
ok ones easy.. thats the power steering hose.. but the others.. lol FORGET IT.. those are the AC lines.. u dont wanna touch them unless u want that **** to get everywhere.. and i mean everywhere. You look like u got spray'd with a fire extingisher.. and unless you wanna pay the money to get ur ac recharged i sugest not touching those .

WEll I know that the one connected to that resorviour with the red cap is the brake fluid so I'd imagine there's gotta be more than just unplugging hoses and putting another on. The one next to it, the one by the pulley/belt looks like it might be for the A/C compressor. The one that is rightmost is for power steering fluid. Anyway, Im only sure of the brake fluid one. Anyone know the other 2?

dude
lol u need to stop responding in the tech section cause ur bullshiting information and its just not right.. u need to learn more... the one with that red cap.. go pop ur hood tomorrow and see where the hoses lead.. cause thats the power steering.
the little grey one up top is ur brake fluid just to FYI... AND there are 2 hoses there for the a/c ....believe me dude.. i just removed my engine out the car yesterday.. i think i know. I actually had in parenthesis(sp?) that the one with the red cap may be the power steering but I deleted it cause I second guessed it. Oh well what can you do. whatever he gets the main point- dont pull those hoses just so they can be a different color.
sooooo sorry. I wont try to help anyone anymore. I always forget that all the information on this site comes from ASE certified mech's.

no just people who actually know what their talking about.. NOT think that they do... but that actually do.
Well unfortunately you'd have to ban like half of the site from using the tech forum. It's a sad fact. Either way, I was just trying to help the guy and like I said, I was sure it was either the brake fluid res. or the steering fluid.

great. grand. wonderful. drop it already. I'm sorry I dont know my own car inside-out like you. And also, while I may not know the inner workings of a sh!tbox civic, Im defiantely not uneducated. I'll be graduating with a Major in Communications and a double minor in marketing and accounting come this may. Dont be quick to judge.
