Aem intake problems: shakes, and clutch line
hey i just installed my aem intake on my LX, and it seems like my intake shakes. it doesnt shake violently or anything, but it just kinda vibrates. i noticed on my brother's integ that his intake doesnt move at all, and also on my friend's 7thgen ex, his intake doesnt shake at all. my intake didnt come with the connector hose that connects the pipe to the engine. i bought another rubber connecter. does this make a difference? this rubber connector feels pretty solid, and it doesnt really move or anything.
Also, when installing my intake, i had a tough time putting the filter in. it was like the clutch line was in the way of the intake hole. i did something slightly different in installing the intake though. i used ph0ng's diy, and while mounting the aem bracket, i didnt take off the stock nut, and just placed the aem bracket on top of the stock nut, with a new nut mounting down the bracket. does not taking out the stock nut really make enough of a difference to put the intake right above the clutch line? right now. the clutch line's resting right on the filter's rubber tubing. has anyone else had this problem? putting on the filter along took me 2 hours. im afraid that when i need to clean my filter, i will not get it back on. and i dont want to put any force on the clutch line, becuase im afraid of busting it. please help me out. thanks.

You probably just need to tighten down the rubber mounting bracket more. Its hard to get at, and I had to go back and tighten mine again. I did the same thing you did with the bolt on top of the stock bolt and it worked fine so that is not your problem. It also really depends on how much it is shaking. Every engine is slightly different and yours could just be shaking a little more. anyway you can take a vid of it and post it?

hmm i used the new aem supplied bracket. did i mount the clutch line on it wrong? here's a pic of my mounting. do i need to turn the clutch line to the left or right more or something? thanks for any help.
get some synthetic oil
hahaha i bet your like WTF?? no really the oil will make the whole engine idle smoother
but yea tighten the thing down...use zip ties if you have to...mine whole intake is ziptied in no vibration

thanx cdmx, i just tightened the clamps a little more, and it doesnt vibrate as much. thanks for the input. i think i'll consider synthetic.
any ideas about the clutch line problem?

haha ... well I don't even use the tranny bracket. You don't really need to if you tighten your ... um .. fasteners(?) tightly. Personally, I think it has better flow when you don't because the smaller tube isn't INSIDE the larger tube ... (at least that's what happens with my aem cai)

oh thanks cdmx, i already have it in there, but u cant see it in the pic. i did the install correctly according to ph0ng's diy, but i cant figure out why my clutch line's in the way of the filter... and it seems like im the only one with this problem..
ooh i know...why dont you try to adjust the intake, like turn it so the filter kinda points in another direction....When i took my CAI out and put it back it it mounted differently...the filter used to hit stuff...now it does not.
