2. cut off plastic cover to expose metal underneath. NOTE: plastic handle part is glued to metal frame underneath.
3. remove button cap (will not fit through the MOMO adapter peice)
4. Use a hack saw and cut off 1 inch of metal: you will see a hole on the passanger side of the the metal housing (DO NOT cut the ebrake cord inside the metal housing)
5. with pliers squeeze the metal housing end you cut together to make a cone shape at the button side (Allows for a tighter fit) NOTE: you don' t have to do this.
6. put boot over metal housing (don't use the velcro)
7. put your adapter into the MOMO E-brake handle and slide it on the metal frame. It will feel loose BUT it will tighten up nicely.
8. Use 3 of the 4 allen screws (Don't use the side facing the driver seat (hole in metal housing). Tighten them down till secure.
9. Roll your boot over the handle end and put your console back together (it will slide over the brake handle.
10. Stand back and admire.

Well I went ahead and did it. I remove the silver button with a set of pilers, then with a razor blade cut that shitty rubber boot. Replace it with a black leather/ silver stich boot and a silver type-r handle. Looks nice to me. I try to get pics up.
just purchased the Momo pit stop ebrake kit today with the black leather boot and honda civic adapter.... when i install this later will i have to use the oem grey push button? it is it possible to get a new one some where? So i shouldnt follow the install instructions int he package by using the velcro??
