how do i properly hook up a 4channel bridged amp to a DVC sub?

ok here's what i have....

i have a 4 channel amp that is bridgeable to 100watts x 2

i have a 4ohm + 4ohm DVC sub

i want that amp to put as much power as possible into the sub

so i guess it'll have to be each voice coil will be hooked up to one of the 100watt bridge chanels?

so i'll have to feed the exact same line level signal into each 100watt bridge channel? the problem is getting the exact same signal on both bridge channels.... do i have to have the exact same frequency cut off and exact same power output? it's not easy to get it EXACT because the amp has analogue trimpots(variable resistor *** thingys)....

there's no way to fine tune it exactly unless i use an oscilloscope....

so do i have to get it exact? will there be damage to my amp or sub if it's off slightly?

OyD is an unknown quantity at this point
what kind of sub and amp?
sounds like very little power for a DVC sub

the sub will take up to 300watts RMS...

the amp is an old MTX Blue Thunder Pro that I already have....

for the time being, i'm too cheap to buy a new amp. the MTX one is also a bit underated.

thanks....

i found this...it was what i was thinking but how close does power output and the frequencies have to be?

http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/dvc/diffsignals.html

so i'm guessing i'll have to use a test signal and an oscilloscope to callibrate my outputs to be as close as possible?

else is there anyway to make my 4 channel amp into a mono amp?

also, what are the consequences of having slightly different power input but the signals are still in phase?

will it make one channel work extra hard?

I have experienced this. So the answer is yes. I suggest getting a D class amp if you want really good bass. That is what I did because I got tired of using 2 or 4 channel amps to drive my sub. I kept blowing my amp and was wondering why, because I was bridging the DVC and it was causing one channel to push more power, I was lucky enough not to screw up the DVC sub. You really need to be carefull with DVC subs because you really want to supply the same input of power into both coils, otherwise one may be pushing harder. Its like driving your car with a fat a$$ in the passenger side-to cause the vehicle to lean, you dont want to do that... same concept.

hmmm...for now, i'll prolly just lug out the oscilloscope and tune it as close as possible....

if it blows, i'll just fix it....

where can i get a test tone? i'm too lazy to lug out a sine wave generator..hehe...

PM me your e-mail address, and i'll send you an MP3 test tone. I've got 50 and 80 Hz....just let me know which one you want.
