'94 Lumina Question....yes, I realize it's completely out of place...
Is there a way to disable the automatic power locks? Whenever you shift into or beyond reverse (it's an auto, if it matters), the locks automatically lock themselves. Does anyone know the procedure for disabling this, or which relay I'd have to take out to stop this? I'd check the manual, but my mom got the car at an auction, and there wasn't one with the car.
So can anybody help me? Point me towards an online manual, tell me what wires I have to cut, how I kill this thing without the 14th electrocution, anything?

Get a copy of the owner's manual. . . . I recall the 1998 Lumina I had was pretty easy to disable certain features. . . like DRL, with the simple pull of a fuse. And if memory serves (I'm old, so bear with me) it should have a diagram of the fuses in there. Also, it is likely also listed on the back of the fusebox cover. (Should be in the passenger kickpanel.) Look for something like "AL" or "ADL" and see what happens. To disable the daytime running lights I simply pulled the "DRL" fuse. . . this, however, also disabled the auto lights, which normally turns the lights on for you when it's dark outside. Merely a convenience feature, this was not a problem since a simple turn of the light switch manually had the desired effect.
In this case, it MIGHT be more difficult, but it's worth taking a quick look.

That's the problem. I don't have the owner's manual, nor do I know where I could get one for free, and I don't want to spend money on a car that
a.) I don't drive,
B.) I don't drive, and
C.) I don't drive.
Besides, I don't see the point in paying for a manual when this is the only thing I need it for. Does anybody know of any sites that have them? I think I saw one for 7th gens in PDF format, but can't remember which thread it was.

Does your mother plan on KEEPING AND DRIVING the car? Hell, I can think of a few DOZEN reasons to have an owner's manual to any car I own. They're not that expensive. . . really, we're talking Chevy here, not Ferrari.
Just tell her to buy an owner's manual, so you'll not only have this information, you might even find other useful things in there. . . . like maint. specs, etc.
And Honda is one of the best documentors of information in the auto industry. . . . so it doesn't surprise me you'd find that on the web. Also, how many domestic owners vs. import owners do you know who even use the internet?
