Question Exhaust Question

I recently saw this ad in Sport Compact Car for this exhaust system where the end of the muffler, instead of having a silencer in it... had this radial fan type pattern whose vents opened and closed depending on how much exhaust pressure there was. This would ultimately produce the most efficient gains in HP at every speed.

I think the company started with a B.

They were doing this whole 5 page article on their Xtreme parts. All I remember was that most of the cars they were featuring were bright yellow

Does anyone know what company I'm talking about?!

I wont believe in the 'tornado' or 'spiral max' until i see a dyno proving some HP. spinning air moving past a piece of metal does not impress me. i think the piece of metal restricts the flow more if anything.
the infomercial for the 'tornado' took place at my college and my professor was in it, but i have my doubts.

I'm not talking about the tornado. The tornado is stupid. For them to actually get a spiral wind pattern after the wind passes the tornado, the tornado would have to be motor powered. The wind is actually moving in a straight line, and the tornado is the thing that's spinning because when the wind hits it, it has to push the fan blades out of the way in a circular pattern. It's just like one of those kiddie windmills you get at the fair. You blow on it and the air from ur breath goes straight past the windmill, but the windmill is the thing that turns. Yeah that is stupid. I saw right thru that gimmick the second I saw it. For it to actually work I think the blades would have to be powered, and parallel to the flow of air, kind of like what you see when you cut an orange.

Anyway, the radial pattern i was thinking about was near the end of the exhaust tip. You know how you can usually see silencers from the outside of the car? It'd be at that level. And it'd look like some kind of radial pattern like those that you see on top of old-type restaurants. Those little onion shapes that let the stove hot air out of the roof.

wonderz is on a distinguished road
you sure it opens and closes upon the variable of exhaust pressure and not just a regular "adjustable" silencer?

(sorry, I didn't read this issue of Sport Compact. ignore my post if its already mentioned.)

Talking

I'm not so sure, WONDERZ...... do adjustable silencers have that kind of radial adjustability thing that I was talking about? It'd be a pain in the *** tho to have a friend hang out your window to adjust your exhaust outlet while you're slamming your car into top speed. hehe.
