Is it just me or the car

Why oh Why does my 4 dr sedan feel every bump on the road. The car has been checked and double checked for problems and it's perfect. Honda tell me I'm too sensitive.

Am I the only person in the world who feels every bump on the road?

I'm starting to notice this too. . I think I'm just getting used to the car though. . It didn't seem like that when I first got the car, but now. . I dunno. . I know my tires are shot to hell, but I'm sure my suspension is still ok. . Anyways. . we're probably just to sensitive . If your car is fine and you can feel every bump. . Then it's just you driving on really crappy roads. . not the cars fault.

Every part of my car is stock apart from new tires and body kit. The new tires help a little, but I think any tires must work hard on Civics poor double wishbone suspension.

Our cars don't have a double wishbone suspension.

I'm sure they have double wishbone suspension, that's what Honda told me in Thailand.

Anyway, whatever they are, they suck. Honda's realy got to get its act together with the 8th generation Civic or it'll lose a lot of customers.

no its does not have double wishbone. mcpherson instead, that is why ride is more comfortable and tolorable on past gen civics than of this model, even after lowering/rims.

Nope. Modified double wishbone in back, but it's really called something else. McPhearson strut suspension in front.

GO and look at your control arms in the front corners of your car. There are some rubber mounts. I guarantee they are ripped. I found this on my car last weekend

I believe Honda made some suspension changes starting with the 2002 models to make them ride less bumpy, which was a major complaint when the 2001s came out. I know my 2003 feels smoother than my 2001 did. But I also think the OEM Firestones suck big time at absorbing road conditions. I put 17" Nitto NT-450s on my 2001 after a month or 2 of riding on the stockers, and I swear they didn't ride any harder then the Firestones, at least until they got worn.

Sorry Zigen1, you're right, the 2001 sedan only has double wishbone suspension on the rear, as for the front I'm not sure.
Anyway, whatever make they are, in my opinion they feel every bump on the road. Cheap and nasty.

I have a 2001 sedan, and its still bumpy as ****. I thought it was just bumpy because I've had it for almost 3 yrs and a lot of miles has been put on it. But damn, it really is a bumpy ride, you feel EVERYTHING. I drive around in my brother-in-laws 03 sedan, and its 100 times smoother.

Yeah - I have 2001 sedan and I drove a 2003 EX coupe a few weeks ago and it rode much better - but my car now has 70,000 miles , so it probably does not ride as well as it may have new. When I switched tires I did notice a good improvement in the ride - this was at 38,000 miles or so.

Those tires are s h i t! I replaced them an hour after I bought my car. I have a coupe Si (canada) and it was the same thing. I got Michelin X ones, then a year later upgraded the wheels and with that the tires...

So, if 2001 sedans have a bumpy ride and 2003 sedans a 100% smoother ride. There must be a fix.

What did Honda do to make the ride better? Maybe we could do the same.
