Hey Guy`s , I Need Your Help , Thanks !
Hi Guy`s,
Here`s the deal ,
I have an 03 Civic EX and at the time I bought the car it was engine was tight (and I mean tight) and it stayed like that until about 1400 miles then I actuly felt the engine losen up. The car now has about 2K on her and the performance has stayed the same.
My question is : Was that the break-in piont for the motor or will it get even more performance. The reason I`m asking is that I want to change my oil to Mobil 1 at the time when the motor has peaked has far as break-in.
Do you think that piont has come ? Should I change now ? Or should I change to a petroleum based oil for a couple more K`s ?
I just can`t see leaving all that assembly oil in the motor after more that 3 months and my car turned 3 mo. old last week. Or am I just being "old fashion" when it comes to oil changes , does time matter ?
Thank you all for your help

I also suggested waiting until the 10k interval to go to full synthetic. At your 5k change, maybe go a sythetic blend, but I would stay with regular oil for now. Don't become one of those crazy people that changes their oil ever 2k. Our cars are recommeded for every 5k. Do it somewhere between 4-5k.

I went full synthetic at 10K. In the manual, it even says to go 2 oil changes on dino **** before going to synthetic. I change it every 4K now.
Hi robbclark1 & Boilermaker1 ,
Thanks for the advise
My car has 2k and I think I`ll take everyones advise for this , oil change I`ll go with Valvoline (reg.) 5W-20 and wait a while till go full synth at least next change and I`ll also use a Honda filter just in case any issues arise.
Why is it not that good to use "full synth" right away ?
Is it because it impeads the break-in ? Is it realy that "slippery" ?
Thanks agian for all your help , I wish you all many "Happy Miles" !!
