Wouldn't be let in to a bar
Wouldn't be let in to a bar
So this is Canada, in Manitoba. I tryed to go to a bar (I'm of age, 18) and they said my license is expired (which it is, the card anyways, I have the actual blue/license part which shows that I renewed my license before it was expired). Now the girl who took cover fee's and I.D's said my license is expired. She then talked to her manager, then came back and said I had to sign a piece of paper to check to see if my signature is the same. I sign two different ways, one with just my initial of my first name and my last name, and the other is with my full first name and last name. So I sign, using just my first initial and she says my signature does not match. So me, not thinking, I sign it again, the same way thinking it just didn't look the same. Obviously she says it does not match again, since on my photo id card I have it with my full name. On the actual part that describes my license, which is renewed and up to date, I have it signed with just my first initial and last name.
Really, should they not ask to see the other part of my license, before asking me to sign to check my signature? Then even if they don't, since my photo ID is expired, although the insurance company said I can use that as ID, would my signature on that not be invalid, since that piece of ID is expired, therefore making it unusable, forcing them to look at the other part of my license?
I wasn't let in, by the way. Bullshit.
Opinions, please. If anyone knows something about this I would like to hear it.

Well it said legal questions and the law :P then I saw the Canda legal questions subforum, so I assumed this was it. Good enough spot as any for it. Cars and bars kind of go together.

doesnt it show your date of birth on the id? so with a little math, you can figure out how old you are lol. who cares if its expired its still a real id.

I have to deal with ppl and their ID's everyday at my work (doing returns on merchandise). If its expired, I'm not supposed to proceed with their return. Sometimes I do because the system lets me and I just dont notice the exp date, but other times I dont because its obvious something is totally messed up and they are trying to pull something over on us.
