Excessive Acceleration
So it's around 10:45 and I'm pulling out of my grocery store job in my usual parking place, and as usual there's no one in the parking lot at this time. I speed out across the parking lot as usual, and see a cop pulling in to the parking lot. I don't really give thought to him pulling me over, but he pulls up behind me and flashes his lights. I do all the standard precautions and turn off my car, turn on my interior lights, and put my hands on the wheel.
He steps up to my window, and tells me he pulled me over for excessive acceleration and I replied with just a simple "I'm ready to get out of here." He then proceeds to tell me that I was sitting there squealing my tires. Which, I can't even do in a civic. Even if I could, I wouldn't rub the tread off my car by doing that. Anyway, he gives me a ticket. A ticket that is probably gonna cost me around 150 bucks. Says it was Excessive Acceleration. Now I gotta figure out a way to break another ticket to my parents in 2 months.
Any suggestions?

Fight it in court. Say that the d17 engine is so patheticly under powered that it is nearly physically impossible to 'squeel' the tires like he said you did. Show proof by pointing out the 0-60 times and quarter mile times.
Pay the ticket upfront and ask for trial by letter(or some othe bs name) Write a report about everything that happened. Include a dyno of a d17 next to a dyno of a chevy 350 and point out how crazy this is. Point out how our cars get 38mpg and if you gun it the only thing that will happen is your car will bog down and get a deep tone to the exhaust but it simply lacks the power. The advantage to writing it is the cop doesnt get paid overtime and doesnt get out of normal work to write the letter so hopefully he just doesnt. Plus if you leave an out that he doesnt bring up the judge cant ask him to clarify his point of view he must simply take the letters to be everything. So if the cop left a detail out in his letter that you hit on it could get you out rather than just having the judge ask the cop to clear it up.

Oh yeah, Also found out that since the ticket's on the grocery stores property, then it's at the managers jurisdiction. Which, I'm pretty tight with my manager, so maybe he can get me off the hook. Hopefully.
I`m in no way trying to say that ticket isn`t total crap because i`m sure it is but is your car a manual or automatic? Cause in 1st gear with a manual you should easily beable to leave a small smoke trail.
