Buy mine! It's already painted silver.

If you suspect that it's stolen... eh. Not sure. Your call. If you can't do anything about it...
But how would he steal a bodykit from his buddy?

ask him if its stolen goods or not. if he clearly states its not stolen and is legit, then take this word for it...afterall, thats all you can do at this point.
if anything, you can probably find a serial number on that bumper(s) and dispatch it to the PD and confirm that the "serial number" is not on file as stolen or that fits the description of what you're purchasing.
what i would do is (if i do want to buy), is ask for a legit id and/or contact number. if he doesnt give a number, its more likely to be "hot". get his number and drivers license plate when you meet up, decription of person(s), etc...anything so you have valid evidence that you purchased the kit from him...for future reference

Here's the fastest way to figure it out - tell him you will only buy it if he will agree to sign a bill of sale!
If he's willing to sign a document stating he sold it to you for X dollars then it's probably not hot. If he refuses then it probably is, because there aren't many legitimate reasons why someone would refuse to offer you a receipt...
