no honda doesnt have a 100K warranty unless you get the extended warranty through american honda. there is only 1 manufacture that I know of that offers a 100K warranty as standard on there new cars and that is hyndaui.

it wouldnt hurt to flush your tranny fluid every 6 months, but its not quite neccesary is it?
for a daily driven vehicle, i think every 30k miles is a good time to change the tranny fluid (not flush). flush should be done if your restoring your vehicle. if you can keep up with changing the atf every 30k miles, a flush wouldnt be neccesary.

my tranny crapped out on me at 80,000 miles. 2001 civic auto.
took it to honda hoping that they can help me fix it. paid them almost 100 dollars just to tell me that the tranny needed to be replaced. quoted me 4500 dollars for parts and labor. called up honda america asked them to help me out. waited a couple of days and honda america says that they couldnt help me because i didnt have any service records with honda. *which is bullsh!t, b/c the dealers charge an arm and a leg and my friend that has a shop does it for free* so i basically said screw you and had my car towed to aamco. just got my car back yesterday and paid 2600 out the door. car drives like new now. plus they gave me a 3 yr/ 36000 mile warranty regular is 1 yr/ 12000 mile.
btw. i admit i slightly abused the car, but i didnt skip out on tranny changes. a HONDA going out at 80000 miles is absolute bs!

About the warranty thing, Hondas come with a 3/36 warranty from the factory afaik. Beyond that you are on your own unless you purchased a SERVICE CONTRACT from a dealer. Most people call the service contract an "extended warranty" but that is actually false. A true extended warranty would be if you were extending the original factory warranty which it does not. It is a contract where you are agreeing to purchase the arrangement of the dealership (or dealer network) servicing/repairing the car up to a stated mileage (up to 7/100) without having to pay for certain parts/labor at the time the service is performed.

Re: Whats the tranny warranty for the 01 civic?
In 2002 Honda Canada Inc. provided a free warranty extension on all Accord and Odyssey automatic transmissions to 160,000 kilometers (100,000 miles)/ five years in the name of customer satisfaction.
