Beware of Auto places that rip you off! PLEASE LOOK

I took some parts (rims & tires, Springs, underdrive pulley kit) to install at a local car service auto shop. Paid them $350 dollars for service purely labor. After installation I started having problems starting the engine. I have not had any kind of issue with my car prior to installation. The mechanic told me it was a starter motor issue. I was skeptical but asked them if my problem will be solved afterwards. They said yes so i agreed to fix it. two days after replacement of the starting motor the same problem occured. The car did not start and was not able to go home. So i called the shop and then towed the car. They took a look at my car and now they are telling me they have to take the tranmission out to get in the way of fixing something totally different. By this time I cannot trust them anymore and I decided to take it to the honda dealer. I did not pay for the services of starter motor to them because i want to see what the real problem was before i pay them. They threaten to hold my car and not let it go so I want to know if Im able to get my car out. Are they legally allowed to hold my car?

what i want to do is be able to take the car out to honda dealer who knows my car best and see what the problem is before i keep paying them foolishly without knowing anything. I believe they are trying to scam me and rip money off of me.

I am pretty sure im not the only one with similar problems. once you fix something they tell you now theres a new problem to be fixed. I want to stop these criminals from ripping other people so i want to do this right to prove that they are guilty. what do you guys think???!

as far as i kno ur bound to pay them to release you car.....tha same would apply if you paid ur insurance laid and got pulled over and had ur car towed. Yes u paid it but until u pay the fees you owe you wouldnt be able to take any action. if i were you i would if you didnt already do it, pay to get it out then have it diagnosed at Honda and take their A@$ to small claims court!

Sounds easy to take it to small claims court but is it really that easy to process it in the small claims court?

I actually called the police department and they said it is a civil issue that i have to solve with the owner of the shop. She didnt know what the hell she was talking about and almost sounded as if she was telling me to do that to brush me off so she can help the next person. These people think they can get away with ripping me off they better think twice. i already contacted a lawyer and I am seeking free advice from them from some kind of attorney internet site.

All i have to say is, unless I take my car to a different car shop, the current shop will feed me garbage to cover their asses. I hate it when mechanics try to feed to mechnical jargon that you cant understand. They seem to love to get you confused.

I’d just pay them to get the car released and definitely take these scammers to court.
