engine swaps

anybody know what are the requirements for an engine swap...im from cali. last thing i've heard u need to show proof or reason why u have to do an engine swap...so what are my options???

Not too familiar with engine swap rules...

The engine has to be the same year of your vehicle or newer

For California the engine has to be the same age or newer in order for it to be legal, you don't need a reason, just the cash and if you're a safe driver don't worry about the cops, I always make sure some moron is around me that is driving faster or I constantly scan and look for escape routes.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I belive in cali you cannot "legally" put a LEV engine into a ULEV car. Newer engine or not.
I'm trying to find this out once and for all. If it IS legal, I'm doing a swap.
