Okay, so i have 5% on my windows, and got a ticket for it , i have to go to court, but i heard that you can get a prescription for dark tint, by "messing up" on an eye test. does anyone know what to do? i can't afford the tickets, and i can't stand having 35% or lighter on my windows . THANKS!

 

Dunno. Wouldn't suggest faking a eye test in order to get around the system. I've been ticketed twice for tint...learned my lesson and haven't tinted the front windows with this car. Cause you are right, the tickets are expensive...

i have to register my car back home in FL cuz i can't even get registration with my tint here in TX... i have 5% all the way around, and 35% down the entire front... that "prescription" idea sounds like way too much B.S. to go through...

I have a legit prescription because of my eyes. Wouldn't you know it, only in California, they changed the tint law to "daytime only".
What ******. I HATE this &(*)^ State.

in CA, the tint law is no tint up front, and any percent in the back windows as long its not reflective mirror or colored tine.
i think what he meant in "daytime only" was that you can have tint driving around at daytime because you can still see thru it fairly. but at night, its a whole different story.

either way, tinting front windows in CA is illegal, period.
all i could say is goodluck the pulling officer is fairly decent.


and for 5% tint all around, u gotta expect it sooner or later.

yep... i know i'm gonna get busted for it eventually... i actually wouldn't recommend it to anyone else... everyone always compliments me on my tint, but it's not worth the paranoia every time i leave my garage...

yea i got busted for my 20%... had to rip off the front windows in 7 days or have the cop come find me, rip my inspection off, ticket me, and tow my car

just go to court and pay for the ticket. It wont go on your record. Its not a moving violation. Everytime I get one, I just pay it, its only like $50-$75. Otherwise, remove the tint, get lighter tint, and beg the judge to dismiss it.

so let me get this straight...

if i go to the eye doctor (i have bad eyesight anyways. i wear contacts) they can give me a prescription so that i can get a super dark window tint??

not only eyes, but headaches. i have migranes, and my doctor signed a prescription for me saying that the sun gives me headaches. works like a charm. got pulled over, pulled out the paper, and cop couldnt do anything!! hahaha i dont know how it is where you live, but in louisiana its on the state trooper website and you just print it out, then get it signed by a doctor

lol... i dont what your guys problem is with tint... 50% is legal in ohio and i got roughly 25% ...

ive never been ticketed for it .. cops are too worried about my noise ordinance to worry about tint.. ive been told to turn my system down alot ...

i know my tint is illegal the guy told me when he tinted it that it was illegal in ohio but he still did it... ive never had a tint ticket.. but then again i have a NHBP civic with the black interior and the one time i was asked about it i said it was 50% and my interior color and exterior color made it darker than it looked and he believed me...

he said he had 50% on his personal vehicle and before he came a cop ( i guess he was a new cop ) he told em the same thing and they didnt ticket him...

i guess ohio is too worried about other **** to worry about tint... i can still technically see in my vehicle from about 10 yards away at night.. but i also have a bright *** blue panasonic radio that at night is brighter than **** so i guess they see the radio being so bright and dont think twice about the tint..
