will a hi-flow cat pass emissions test
will a hi-flow cat pass emissions test
will a high-flow cat pass emissions? i wanna do a lx to ex exhaust conversion. and saw some hi flow cat for the 03 ex on ebay. after taking off the oem cat that is attached to my header, and replacing it with the high flow will i still pass emmisons test? And do i need to change my front sway bar? i need somebody that has done this conversion to answer these questions. Only answer if you know what your talking about, and not going by what ya herd.
i belive to have it run right your going to need to drill a hole and put your o2 sencer in there. otherwise just replacing it all out you will be down to one o2 sencer and it will then trow codes

i did the conversion a while back froma dx to ex exhaust, i had a bigger downpipe and highflow cat. i made a whole thread on it. it will fast pass. you just might have to extend the O2 sensor wires a little bit. like i did.

i'm about to install my Magna Flow Cat because my exhaust smell like **** and it sound like ****. Even thought the test pipe does give a pretty good power difference and louder sound, it is really not worth it. Plus even in texas, regular police officer are getting very suspecious along with others.
anyone have opinions on the hp/tq benefits of the random tech (thinking of running it with stock EX header and high flow muffler)..rest of pipe stock so as to not lose to much back pressure
Wadup
Im Going Through The Same Thing And Yes It Will, I Seriously Just Got Mine Tested So I Could Get That Stupid Sticker So Yes It Willlll Work! I GUTTED MY STOCK ONE AND FAILED IT, SO I KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND I WENT TO MY BUDDIES IMPORT SHOP AND WE PUT A HIGH FLOW CAT AND I WENT AND GOT IT TESTED AND I GOT MY STICKER! But you have to drill the hole in the same spot where your old hole was and put the o2 sencer back in there.

how would you know if it sounds like **** and smells like **** when you didnt even install it yet? "Your about to install"...
anyways, mine smells like crap, but mine sounds good, maybe your exhuast sucks.
Hmm get a carb-certified one anyways to be safe. My fiance's 98 civic won't pass with a high-flow, already tested it.
I have plans for a card-certified header for my civic and cat-back system...and just keep the stock cat for now. It's new enough. ;-)

exturbo6? I've removed the CAT on differnet cars before. And yes when you don't have the cat on the car it does smell like **** and sound like crap because of all the back fire and raddeling after 2000 rpms. My car smell good and sound good now that i put the hi flow cat.
There is still back fire and raddeling but only when racing of going fast

here in va...cars built after a certain year don't do a smog test. its just a visual inspection to make sure there is a cat and that no CEL has been thrown. this was effective 10/2005. before that i think everybody did the smog thing.
