Ok, So my car is registered in AZ where emissions is basically non-existant, but my dad is moving to CA. Now I need an address or a way to keep my AZ car listed in AZ and not CA.
My car smells like a 1970s buick without a cat or resonator. I have an hp racing header, highfloooow cat and the RS*R exmag cat back, along with dark tint.
What are your suggestions guys? Would putting a new legal cat do the trick for CA? Or maybe there's a way to keep the car listed at a friend's house in AZ. I thought about selling the vic, but she's my little girl~ sniff sniff; and i luv er.

if you got AZ plates, hope the officer understands and isnt a jerk about the tint. btw, front tint is illegal in CA..regardless of %. yeah it sucks.
as for emissions, CA officers would cite you for any mod on your vehicle. intake, muffler, exhaust, header, anything...even if it has a carb sticker. all fix-it citations. some even know there legal in the states but they like to cite you for it cause it fits within there job description
if your exhaust set-up looks like it has a cat, then i wouldnt worry. but if an officer is going for the whole cavity search, i heard its a $1000-+ fine for just having no cat converter in CA.

I've been in san Diego for nearly two years with my current ride and i haven't been subjected to an **** cavity search. lol. knock on wood" I know that SD has a tendency to target modified cars but they shouldn't be racing on the streets any way. I drive fast but racing people is dangerous and foolish considering the penalties if the cops get you.
How can i keep my car registered in AZ and live here?

sucks that you have to worry about that now. I put a cat on my car with my turbo setup, and cops constantly follow me, but never pull m eover.
I was even at this restaraunt on 51st ave & bell or greenway? BUt its a hang out for people with modded cars, and there was an undercover there. This one dude asked me to pop my hood, so I did. The cop is like 5 ft away now, and were talking about it. Im talking all loud like, "YEAH, I HAVE A CAT, SO ITS COMPLETELY LEGAL!!!!" lol. haha I was sketched out. But cops dont really mess with you too much unless your driving like an ***. Police here are all about modding cars, and BRINGING THEM TO THE TRACK.
You could register the car here, and just say your visiting if you get pulled over. But you better hope they dont check and see that you're living in SD. They will be a dic* about your car. just hope for the best, and dont get pulled over
Good luck
Peace

Its 51st and bell after we get busted out of sonic at 35th and Union hills or Rameros on 43rd and Bell. Dude, if you roll with that crew? how come ive never seen you? As far as I was concerned, i was the only 7th Gen in that part of the scene...
