Need help...speeding exceeds 100 mph on I-5...
I just got a ticket for driving over 100mph on I-5 around late December. The cop said that I was lucky that he put "exceeding 100mph" instead of "reckless driving" since I could have get arrested and get a ticket for something like $1800 plus license suspension. To me the fine sounded like a BS but I'm afraid if my liecense got suspended.
Now I got a court notice stating that I have to appear at the court in Colinga which is between L.A and Bay area. Unfortunately, I'm in San Diego and they wouldn't let me change the court for any reason. I'm just wondering how it would be like when I go to the court and what would the amount of ticket be since I've never had an experience before. I think it would be ok as long as the fine is less than $500, because my friend had the same experience before and she got a ticket for less than $400. She didnt even have to go to the court, so I guess I was just an unlucky individual? Anyway, I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some clue about how my situation would be like and if possible please let me know how to avoid extremely high fines and possible suspension. Thanks for reading...

yeah over 100 means you go to jail so be glad you didnt go to jail.
anyways my bro got a ticket bigger than that because he was going 90ish on carpool lane by himself and ended up paying 700 and couldnt go to traffic school. So now he's scared to speed because he dont want his licsense taken away.,

Well I meant that I was unlucky compare to what I've heard from friend's experience. I do feel lucky that he didn't arrest me that night since it was around middle of nowhere. I'm just afraid if my license might be suspended or end up with paying $1000+ fine... Anyone have recommendation of lawyers in California? I'm in San Diego and the court is in Colinga which should be in Fresno. Thanks
What ever. I don't think the fine will be over $500.00 but make sure you go to court on or before the date listed. traffic court you can go in any time before the appeance date, take cash, or your check book, or both, be prepared to make some payment. The Judge will give you the option to make payments if the fine is more than you have the judge will ask you to pay what you can that day, and will agree to reasonable payment plan for remaining amount. been there done that I used to be a Rice Rocket Rider.
