Most states made neons illegal. I know here in Illinois, any color is illegal even if the tubes are hidden.

Is it just under car neons that are illegal? or are interiors out too?

Legal in parts of Indiana....that or my hometown cops just don't care. Regardless, I've got 'em....blue and green, switchable.

first off, you need to consult with your local authorities. It varies from state to state. I used to have red underbody neons and never got stopped once, and the bulbs even showed. Yet I got pulled over all the time for red hood lights. (This was when I was a ricer with my old car). It also depends on the cops. Some cops really dont care. Others are out to get anybody for anything.

I live in Georgia and in the town of Valdosta, which is where I am stationed, neons are legal. I've been told by the SP's on the base that they were legal in town, but as soon as you step foot out on the highway, the state police will nail you. The only problem i've had is that I have to turn them off when in reverse because of the glare. Other than that, I haven't had any problems.

i asked a cop and they dont know ****.

what i do know, however, undercar neons are illegal, no matter what you think. LED windshield nozzle lights are illegal, period. Interior lights are okay as long as you dont see the bulb from the outside. I got stopped at a ride program, and my friend has a blue tube, and he said "You see how I can see this from the outside? That's no good.." and he told him to turn it off and we went on our way.

BTW, Canadian.

Its pretty much illegal across the entire country...blue that is..however, I remember hearing something about purple being ok in certain states....If you really wanna know? Call up a police station and ask...thats how I get most of my answers...

Well..my uncle is a lieutenant, so I just call him up

i thought neons were legal as long as they were not on while driving or while the car is moving... i would think you could have them on your car and on while the car is at a complete stop... but thats what i think

i know in louisiana all neons interior and exterior are illegal on a car. i thought about putting red neons under my car but my uncle which is a state trooper told me all neons are illegal so i didn't do it. they are legal on motor bikes b/c it helps cars see them better at night.

Well it's legal to have neons installed on the car, they just can't be on when you're using public roadways. Parking lots are fine cause it's private property.

I live in KY and have blue neon license plate frame, blue cobra eyes, and still have the blue neon kit under my car, but potholes killed all the bulbs. Been pulled over plenty o times with them on, but cops never said anything about them. In Kentucky they don't care as long as the lights don't flash or strobe.
