How a fixing work?

I got a fixing ticket for my tinted windows by CHP. Violatoions *v26708a. I know you have to take off the tinted windows and show the cops that you take it off and they sign it. I just recivce a letter from San Francsico court the fine is 116.97 but the ticket said correctable.Do i have to go to court and pay the fine of 116.97? I don't know how the system work soo..That what i heard you let the cop sign the ticket and you ONLY pay 10.00 fee that all.. But why the fine amout said 116.97 and i have to go to court or probably i don't understand. HELP

If you do not get the problem fixed then you will have to pay the higher fee.

I'm pretty sure you have to have it fixed at a shop and then get it checked out by the cops... or something like that.

The only legal tint in CA is the OEM tint. Can't be any darker.

Sorry that's a myth. I have my degree in Criminal Justice Administration from a local college here in San Diego. Here's a quote from the law:

- The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.

- If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.

- However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced.

I wouldn't even hestitate to do it either. The chances of you being stopped for that are extremely minimal. But you never know, you might just run into a rookie who wants to press his authority.

true. but as much driving as i do at night with alcohol in the backseat, people drinking, etc. i think it's WELL worth it. we were in my friend's 4 runner last night and today.....and we got the hook up with some alki and the cops went past a buncha times but never stopped us. we were all drunk too. tinted windows really would've helped calm every1s nerves.
