Hey everyone,

I got pulled in Burlington Vermont for doing 40 in a 25. (For some reason the cops expect you to see the speed limit posted conviently behind the trees.) I was being polite to the cop, I used the "I have never been in the area before and I am not familiar with the speed limits yet" excuse. (I was caught near the University of Vermont campus) I thought I would have got a break since I drove from North Carolina to Vermont. (My civic is a completely stock 4DR.) Is there a zero-tolerance policy of some kind in Vermont? The cop said that he would let me go if it wasn't for this policy. Anyone out there ever got a ticket in VT and/or won in court?

if the sign was really obstructed by trees then go take pics of it and bring them to court.

I give up. I just endorsed the ticket and signed a check. I can't take my car with my to Vermont so it stays in North Carolina. I got 3 points on my licence but I don't care. I'm not going to be driving or having an insurance policy for a little under a year.
