Rep Power: 0 How NOT to avoid a ticket
My friend did the most retarded thing to get out of getting pulled over last week. He drives a 2000 Acura TL, which is relatively quick.
When leaving our high school's AP Chemistry evening reviews, my friend was doing some quick burnouts in the parking lot, then he pulled onto the boulevard adjacent to the lot. He got up to about 60 (in a 25 zone mind you) before he had to stop for the stop sign. At the stop sign, he pulled a u-turn onto the other side of the boulevard to head back up towards the streetlight at the intersection up there. Halfway between the stop sign and the stoplight, my friend sees a cop turn on her lights back by the stop sign. Normally, most people would just pull over. Not my friend. What does he do?
He cuts his lights and floors it.
He blows the red at the T-shape intersection (the boulevard is the vertical part of the T) and turns right onto Arlington Heights Road. He gets up to about 120 (because there is no traffic), and up ahead there is a red light. As he approaches, the cars driving the opposite way on the street just finished turning left (they had an arrow), and he takes his TL onto the median and blows inbetween four lanes of cars. On the median.
About a quarter mile up, he slows down to turn right onto a side street. Right as he's about to turn left, another cop hits its lights and is ready to give chase. My friend, being the genius he is, launches into the side streets and loses the cop at about 50mph on side streets. Once he's cop-free, he gets back onto Arlington Heights Road, and takes it nice and legally to Higgins road, which he takes to the next town, Schaumburg, where he sits at a Portillos for an hour or so. After that hour, his friend shows up and they both drive home the back way.
After my friend blew the first red light, the first cop drove into the high school parking lot and asked a couple of my friends if they knew who it was. They said they didn't know. Then the officer said, "I don't know why he ran. I was only going to yell at him for screeching his tires." The cops were never close enough to catch his plates, so he got away with it. There were cops all over Arlington Heights Road all night, though, just waiting for him to come back. He never did, thankfully.
Basically, my friend ran because he's already got 3 or 4 tickets to his name, and one more would spell license suspension. But I don't know what he was thinking, espeically since I believe he just committed felony flight, along with reckless endangerment and probably attempted vehicular suicide.
Anyway, the moral of this story is to just pull over. Don't do that stupid **** that'll end up getting you or someone else killed.

Rep Power: 0 he managed to get outta town before all the cops (we have about 25 cars, but never that many out and about) managed to converge on arlington heights road. my friends said like 10 cops were crawling all over that road all night.
he woulda been raped by charges had he been caught.
