So yeah the other night I was driving around with my ricey super red turn signals and parking lights and I stopped at a side road and was about to turn right onto a main road, and there was this cop turning from the main road into the side road.

Well to make a long story short, I had to do a complete stop so that he wouldn't get me for that and I tried to high tail it out of there but the cop had me.... I couldn't have outrun that cop in my 115 hp civic. Basically he did a U turn in the side road and then pulled me over. I knew I was caught as soon as I saw him.

Anyway he came to my window and said do you know why I pulled you over? I was like I don't know maybe the lights? Then he said.... "yeah.... what the hell possessed you to do that?" Then he walked up to the front of my car and then back and then shook his head. By that time there were already 3 cop cars parked behind me flashing their ghey *** lights and about 6 cops standing outside checking out my car.

One cop looked at my exhaust TIP and then talked to the cop that pulled me over.

The pullover cop (let's name him PIG) came back to my window and said "do you have gas?"

I was like wtf?! What are you talking about? I don't have gas.

Then he was like what's that switch for then? *pointing to my sub tube switch beind my stickshift and in front of the center console storage holder*

I was like "It's my audio system see." *cop pokes his head into my window* *I toggle my bass on and off*

So the cop is like "uhh okay"

Then he goes back to his car with my license and not my registration which I forgot to put back in my car after I had taken it to the dealership.

Half an hour later he comes back and he's like "I know you have a pretty tricked out ride but that's just plain illegal. Me and my partner here thought you were backing up the road when we saw you. " (I had tints, an exhaust tip and a bodykit, my rims are off for the winter... and he says my ride is 'tricked out').

His partner shines his flashlight in my friend's face thru the passenger side window.

PIG: "You know you already got a ticket for this before right"

ME: "Yeah I know"

PIG: "So why didn't you change it out?"

ME: "I didn't have the time to"

PIG: "Do you know how long ago it was?"

ME: "(lying) About a month... but I went on vacation right after I got that ticket so I didn't have the time"

PIG: "So are you going to change your bulbs out or are you going to be a KID about it and will I have to come by your house in two weeks to check up on you?"

ME: (pissed that he called me a kid since I'm almost 23): "I'll change them but you don't have to freaking PATRONIZE me like that."

PIG: Okay well I'll be coming back to check on you in two weeks

ME: So I should expect to see you in two weeks at my house huh

PIG: Well I'll trust you'll make the right decision and change them out. You sure as hell can't drive thru this city without being spotted by me.

ME: ALRIGHT I'LL CHANGE THEM OUT. So tell me what kind of lights can I have in the front of my car then.

PIG: Either white or amber.

ME: So if all the lights on the front of my car are white is that okay

PIG: Go to www.searchlaw.com and find out.

ME: And how about the rear?

PIG: Only amber or red. (Yea right I guess since we have a white reverse light, all our cars come illegal OEM)

ME: So tell me what I can and cannot have. I mean I don't want you to come by my house and have to seize my car on some technicality.

PIG: ++ some explanation about electrical lighting shi+ about how you can have multicolored lights but not while driving ++

ME: So if I have lights that aren't on while in motion then you won't seize my car right

PIG: (freezing his a$$ off answering my questions by standing outside) Yes

PIG: If you change out your lights you probably have to reseal them up so that they don't fog.

ME: (amazed that he's tryin to be DOWN into the import scene by telling ME how to reseal my lights and how he said "tricked out" and "gas" earlier). What are you talking about fogging?

PIG: ++tries to make some explanation about lights which he botches plain and simple++

ME: Uh my lights are in my OEM sockets there's no drilling (n00b)

PIG: Oh well let me see them

ME: *Toggles my turn signals*

PIG: You're lucky I didn't get you for that too because if they were flashing I could have got you for that too.

ME: That's why I don't flash them (duh)

PIG: Well anyway just sign here and here.

ME: *signs* then asks more questions about lighting in an annoyed tone coz I don't want this dilweed to come by my house and seize my car merely for having lights that aren't on.

PIG: (Annoyed) You know what I could have seized your car do you want me to do that?

ME: I AM MERELY TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I CAN AND CANNOT HAVE ON MY CAR IF YOU'D JUST EXPLAIN IT TO ME

PIG: (Already annoyed and walking away) just change your lights okay........ he fades out coz he's obviously fed up and annoyed with me and his nutz are probably ice cubez now.


that's the end of my story $80 fine total for lights and no registration.


My friend started cracking up after we left because he said I was giving the cop a hard time.

Annoying and funny story about getting pulled over by a cockya$$ pig with delusions of rice knowledge. Maybe a cop is gonna pull me over next time for playing norah jones too loud in my car and then ask me if I have GAS. GHEY


And if any smarta$$ is going to tell me how dumb it was of me to be a ricer with my red lights and that it's good that I got pulled over then y'all can save it. I knew the law and I broke it so you don't have to tell me a 2nd time. In fact, my tint is illegal too, and I think that most of our tints are illegal in that respect.

didnt i tell you that the red lights were illegal before?? anyways maybe you will learn your lesson this time. he could have got you for more then just the red lights IMO.

Guys I knew the red lights were illegal and I know underbody neons are illegal too and I still did it with the LEDs and a long time ago I still did it with the neons but I took those out already. I know there are still people out there that drive with underbody neons on and winshield washer LEDs and 18 wheelers that have multicolored LEDs all over, and I bet they still get pulled over. In fact I think there are some people on these forums driving around with multicolored license plate lights and I KNOW they don't have a toggle switch for that. There are people who drive with a$$ black tints out there and I bet they get pulled over for that. There are people who drive with nitrous and they might get pulled over for that. In fact one of my girl coworkers drives around with red corners on her mirage and just because she hasn't been pulled over doesn't make her any smarter than me for doing it.

I already told all you guys that I knew the law in fact... I'm gonna quote myself just to show you.



I knew I had it coming and I knew I could take the hit of the fine so I don't really need anyone with their "I told you so" holier than thou attitudes to be commenting. I mean granted this is a free forum but I mean wow I already preempted all the "I told you so's" in my first post.
But oh well if you guys really feel the need to say "I told you so," then go right ahead. And Injen, I don't remember you telling me about the red lights maybe I have short memory. Ah well.


The whole point of my post was that I wanted to tell you guys a story of how my night went and how the cop was tryin to use all these damned "import performance" terms with me and stuff.

The cop said "If you're so into your car, try modding the engine and not illegal lights like that"

I told him.... yeah right if I mod my engine seriously then I'd probably have to get a whole new exhaust system and you'd pull me over for a too loud aftermarket exhaust and get me for illegal emissions and intake and all that.. Or you'd just get me for having any kind of aftermarket exhaust for that matter.

The cop was speechless.....

He told me that only amber and red light is supposed to come from the back of your car.

UH HOW ABOUT WHITE LIGHT for reverse and for our license plates?

Goes to show how much he knows.


I don't know what other fines the cop could have slapped me with because other than the lights and my slightly too dark tints I think I was doing everything else just right. I look at almost every other modded import out there and their tints are definitely darker than mine.

I mean, if you guys have ever seen red lighting on a black car, it looks evil. That's why it was hard for me to go back to white lights, if you know what I mean.
