Rep Power: 291 Insurance...how much is too much?
I realize a lot of you guys are cheap bastards, but how much is too much?
Right now, I pay $90 a month for my car.
My bike is $2200 a year, unfortunately.
But...I want a new bike. Well...not NEW new, but this one:

It's a 2003 Honda CBR600RR (Yellow).
Insurance would be roughly $3500-$4500 bones. I THINK it's around 3800.
Considering I have to pay in four installments (May/June/July/August)...that's going to be $1000 a month for four months.
Is it worth it? I REALLY want a new bike. The fact that I can't do wheelies on mine, or upgrade it anymore, is making me itch. The yellow RR is beautiful, and quite affordable.
I need to sell my bike for $6000 to make it happen, so that's the other stipulation.
What do you guys think? Am I retarded for wanting to spend $4000 a year on insurance?
A Ducati 749 Dark would be $2200 a year(!), the same price as my suzuki. Tempting, but it doesn't have the sex appeal that the yellow or red duacti's have.
Input would be helpful

For 4 months. Doing the math it comes out to about $350 a month. I think its a little high but you only live once and when you look at the big picture money is really only paper

Rep Power: 291 lol...no no caryn...it's $1000 for insurance over the period of may-august.
$4000 total. PAIN
but...for the sex appeal of the honda RR...it's quite tempting.
Let's see if the insurance broker can whip up a miracle.
Mike: no, this is through a different broker, but still through kingsway general insurance (who sucks, btw).
If I score my bike insurance with them, I can combine car/motorbike into one place, and get a 15% discount.
man...i really want a new bike, though. *le sigh*
