K well to clear this up ... Montreal is in the province of Quebec ... So I'm kinda confused as to what this sentence means.

"Also how long a ride is it from montreal to quebec??"

Thats kind of like saying "How long is it from Toronto to Ontario??"

If your wondering how long it will take you from TO ... TO to Ottawa at like a decent 401 speed of like 130km/h takes about 4 hours. Tack on another 1 1/2 to 2 hours max from Ottawa to Montreal.

So your looking at about 6 hour drive total.

Msg Karumba for more details about MTL hotels.

Montreal to Quebec isn't that bad...2 hours maybe? Hardest part is getting through Montreal because they only have the one major highway going through there and it's the damn Trans Canada so it's always packed.

Depending on where you want to stay in montreal I can tell you that hotels are averege priced in Pointe Claire...there's a large area right off the highway with a tall Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn's and so on...also have Fairview Mall right across the highway...

hehe, Quebec city, the capital of quebec? thats more like Ottawa to Toronto. I can't comment on hotels but i believe Quebec is about an 8 hour drive from Ottawa. Montreal being an hour and a bit in the same direction I'd say its 6.x hours away.

Duh .. I know some hotels, but I don't know the different pricings. Also might depend where you want to stay. West island region, downtown, off-shore, etc .. I've posted this in the MTL General Area Discussion <- hint, skip to the last page ( 920+ posts )

Like I stated in that thread, might help in getting your budget and location placement desires. Right smack downtown is probably going to be more costly than west island (ie sururbish part and/or industrial (but off highway))

Montreal, Quebec to Quebec, Quebec is to my knowledge around a ~3hr drive - depending on traffic moreso (its often a mess to get off-island). Though I've never done the trip myself, I should be partaking in it soon so I'll let you know

Sure, but he didn't state where he wanted to be.. Who knows, maybe he wants to be right in the smack of downtown rather than having the 20+ min drive.

Also, I'd lean more towards the new Hampton Suites if going along the lines of Holiday Inn. Located on the same service road just after des Sources blvd.. But then you can also lean more towards the Hampton Inn or what not on the Cote-de-Liesse .. puts him in a cheaper price range than downtown and not all the far off from it. Course not much to see around that dirty industrial/business area
