Ok...I didn't have a radio on the way down the mountain Friday night so I don't know if Landin called this one out or not so here goes....

First down the mountain at 1:30 were Landin, myself, and Freddy.

I had been wondering why on the whole way up we hadn't seen any deer or even a dead squirel on the road given the type of surroundings we were in.

On the way down I started thinking the same thing as we pulled 90km/h into the turns...

Then near the bottom...it happened..

I saw a deer run out in front of Landin and his car swerve left then right. I'm not sure how the deer made it across without him smokin it but it did and holy s.hit was that scary. I was only 2 car lengths back from him when it happened too .

So now what? We should all get deer whistles? haha

Exactly what ot sounds like dood, a "deer whistle" Basically, its a piece of plastic that makes a very high pitch "whistle" when the wind blows through it. (you mount them on the front of your car either on the hood or bumper.)

I'm not too sure about them though. I know a guy at work, and he drives... yes a minivan, and he lives out in the sticks. He's always had them on his vehicles... one day on the way home he hit a deer. 10 G's worth of damage... he was wondering how it could have happened, he had deer whistles on his car. He said he must have hit the only deaf deer in the woods

I'm think they're a useless gismo, i'd rather just go honkin on the horn... same effect cept if keeps ALL animals and humans off the road

But, I'm not trying to be an old man, but if we're plannin on doin that again, I'd rather go during the day, or not go AS FAST reason being, if we keep going up there .... someone WILL hit an animal, I just don't want to see someone get hurt that deep in the woods. and by the sounds if it, Landin almost raped a deer already.

**** that, i'm going to get one of Freddys music makers, and attach it to an amp, that way it will sound so annoying that it will kill all the dear.


What we need, is for Array to buy a hummer, and lead everytime we go, so that when a dear come out, he hits it forst and nothing happens.

Just wait till deer hunting season guys :P that'll deal with that deer problems. At least early on in the summer I see a lot of dear around my place, by fall hardly any. Glad no one got hurt though. I saw another 2 deer on my way home but that was back in the sticks. I was out running my car with only the down pipe on past the golf course here, now thats a good dear whistle i saw about 12 glowing eyes watching my car drive past the greens (It's Mont Cascade theres no houses out there, the dear eat the golf course lol). Anyway I'm sure there are other roads that dont have that threat of not knowing whats around this corner as your going 120kmph. Just need to find them.

omg....this deer scared the **** out of me. I cant believe we were talking about it just before and it actually almost happend. I honestly thought it was over for me, because slowing down was not an option. If I had been going slower I would have hit it forshure...but I got lucky, so next time imma take it a lil bit easier.

Those deer sound things dont actually work. I live in the middle of no-where and alot of my friends have had thoses things on their cars and it seems they still hit deer. Ive never hit one (knock on wood) even though i see them all the time. I think that its because i always have the stereo on and the windows down so they can hear me coming. When people hit deer its because they suprise them and then they freez on the road or run accross in fear. So if the person in front has their system loud enough i think we should be ok. Its worked for me
Thats just a country kids opinion...if you guys feel that some whistle that hasnt been proven to work ( and looks ugly) will help.......go for it!!!!
