In 2016 we purchased this 1997 Honda Civic for our daughter from our friends elderly mother who could longer drive. We are the second owner of this car which had 157,000km on it when we got it.

Our mechanic went through the complete car when we bought it to ensure it was 100% roadworthy for our daughter. We spent $3100 total which included major items such as tires, brake/fuel lines, timing belt, water pump,both drive shafts,transmission fluid etc. (We have the receipts for this work)

In 2018 we also replaced the radiator as well as the muffler. ( Also have receipts) Oil/filter have been changed every 5000km .

Our daughter has since relocated and no longer needs a car hence the reason for the sale. I thought of keeping it as it is such a cool car and fun to drive but have too many projects on the go.

As far as work required, the throw out bearing (standard transmission) will need to be replaced as it is starting to make noise but is still drivable and shifts well. There is a small gas leak which I’m assuming is the tank as it only leaks when the tank is at a certain level, haven’t had the time to investigate further.

The body is in absolutely amazing condition. We have it Krowned rust sprayed each year. Tiny rust spot on the roof (see pics), and clear coating is coming off in some areas. Worst thing is a dent in the hood where someone may have tried to close the hood with the support arm still up. (see pics)

Is immaculate and has never been smoked in.

If you know the history of Honda Civics then you’ll know that this was one of the best years they were ever made.
