It depends. Could be 5%, could be 15%. Could pay 20% handling fee. If you're getting anything shipped from the US, make sure the declared value is low and have it marked as a gift.

Yeah, ordering rims from the US is probably not your best option. For one thing, shipping will be exorbinant. For another thing, you'll likely be stung with both customs brokerage fees and GST.

With UPS, the customs brokerage fee is REALLY high. Since it will be hard to claim the rims as a gift (gifts require some sort of informal letter/note to be enclosed) you'll probably have to pay both customs and tax on them as well. If you are able to pass them off as a gift, claim a reasonable, but lower amount for customs....such as $200-$400...depending on how big your ***** are. Obviously, with rims, you wont be able to claim the <$20 value required to evade customs charges and expect it to pass customs flawlessly. On "gifts" over $20 you will pay customs but not GST.

If you have the option, ship via the USPS...their customs brokerage fees are far cheaper than anyone elses...but they have other downfalls such as less reliability, longer transit time, and rougher handling IMO.

If you declare it as a gift, it can't be sent from a business (or to a business) address, and it needs a card.

Sorry a gift is only a value up to $60
It is best to have them drop shipped and you go down and pick them up. I do alot of business across the border and it is the cheapest way to go. Usually GST and sometimes duty (if made outside of the US)
