Headers EX only?

Does anybody know why all headers for our Civic are EX Only? What makes them only fit the Si? Is there a way to make them compatible with the Dx format? let me know thanks

Do a search on the site. I believe that the head is just the DOHC Vtec head right as opposed to the SOHC non Vtec head? Is this what you are talking about? THere is a DIY on a head swap for the SOHC to a DOHC. And if you need a head I think you can look at Black Gold in Nisku for parts. They may have one laying around.

Well I think that the only engine that has the dohc is the Si-R. Im pretty sure the only difference between the dx and ex (si) is the vtech computer and some other small differences but i could be wrong, let me know..Also can you get my the link for the head swap. thanks

WOW there's some bad information in this thread. The headers from a American EX will fit a Canadian Si. The LX and DX headers are slightly different from the Si (EX) counterparts. They will bolt on to the head, but you will need a exhaust shop to modify your B pipe to get them to match up if you want to use them on your Si.

So You are saying that an si or Ex aftermarket header will bolt on to a dx engine, but the exhause wont line up? How would you get them to line up then? pm or email me,,,or just post, thanks

Yes the EX (Canadian Si) headers will bolt onto the car. You need to have your b-pipe modified. You will either need to get a muffler shop to extend your DX's b-pipe, or get a full EX (Si) exhaust. Notice on the attached image, the length of the b-pipe (circled for each model) is different, as well as the angle.

There is also Kamikaze headers out there (which are made for the DX/LX) .. as well as OBX, but I wouldn't trust OBX.

I personally went the EX way, as there are more catback exhausts available for that type of set-up.
