Vehicle break-ins in Lethbridge
For the love of God, this is beginning to **** me off...
Some of you may have heard that chrisgushue had his car broken into over reading week... sucked for him, he lost a lot of stuff and sustained some damage to his Civic...
On average, in the local paper, there are about 8-12 vehicle thefts a week since February 2005. That's a lot for a city of 70,000 people...
And now, my sister's truck gets broken into. Lost her CD's and her sunglasses...
What pisses me off is that the cops DO NOTHING to try to solve this. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that it is just a group or gang of people committed to breaking into vehicles...
The cops solution, BE PREVENTATIVE.... like that does anything. Most perps will break in regardless if they see anything or not...
Oh well, I'm just venting.
But in any case, this is another good reason why Lethbridge is the shithole of Southern Alberta.

This city's police force is extremely understaffed, theres entire areas of the city that simply don't have any police after 6pm. By the time you factor out the number of cops away on sick leave, holidays, or in court testifying, the force isn't half as big as it should be. Esp. considering that we have gangs from every corner of the world that call this city home, our murder rate is insanely high, we have a disgustingly large number of sex crimes compared to other Canadian cities and apparantly, our province's economy is brimming w. money.
Taking all these things into account, our police force is still understaffed, theres obviously a gang problem w. auto thefts, police just haven't the resources to deal w. it. Let the insurance handle it. I had my car broken into a few months ago in Manulife Place, I filled out a form and that was more or less it.
