Kinda funny, but I still feel bad for the owners. No one wants this stuff to happen to their car.
Smart car, stupid act
Vandals upend and smash small, unique, new automobile
By CAROLINE BOSCHMAN
Lethbridge Herald
Ross Hogenson's heart sank when he stepped outside early Wednesday morning to find his prized two-month-old Smart car tipped over on his driveway.
"We're suspecting it's some vandals who were just trying to prove they could tip over a car just because it's small," Hogenson said. "I was just sick."
His Smart fortwo car is 1 of only 2 in Lethbridge and he's been safely parking it in his driveway in Fairmont Park ever since he got it.
"I thought it was an extremely safe neighbourhood," he said.
Damage, at first glance, includes a broken window, side-view mirror, both fenders on the right side, a door handle and door panel and could cost around $3,000.
"Getting it repaired is going to take two or three months. All the parts come from France," he said.
Hogenson and his wife have grown to love the little car for the way it looks and handles and the great gas mileage.
"It's just a great little car. You get in the car and it just makes you smile," he said.
"I will gladly pay $1,000 to anyone who can prove who tipped this car over."
Police are investigating.
Anyone with information can call Hogenson at 317-5706, the police at 327-2210 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

I'd post a pic if I could. Our local paper has it on the front page, and it's tipped on it's side... but even tipped the way it is, the officer investigating it stands taller than the car itself.. and he's not that tall...
Those Smart Cars aren't cheap either... saw one at the Calgary Intl Auto Show...

What actually happened is kinda funny, but what the vandals did was just crap. Kinda disturbing how people don't have respect for others' property.
For those who've had their cars vandalized will absolutely sympathize with the Lethbridge owner. And the thing is, it's just obscene when people destroy property for the sake of vandalizing, it's SOMEWHAT understandable when they're trying to jack your ****.
