so some old lady hit me
driving east on 134ave. to turn right on 97st. passing a car and she decides that looking back and turning into me is a good idea. i see her coming at me but there is nothing i can do except hope that she turns around and pays attention to the task at hand. no luck. so she left a nice mark down my door, a little bit on the rear quarter panel and a tiny nick on the rear bumper. she doesn't wanna go thru insurance(obviously) and quite frankly i dont either(we'll see). needless to say, Will, i'll be stopping by tomorrow..****ing old people. ironic, not too long ago i mentioned how poorly old people drive.
ps- i'll post some pics tomorrow

Whoa man, that sucks. It's like that down here too. Lethbridge is a retirement city and a college/university city. Imagine the ratio for bad/crazy drivers....
Hopefully it won't cost too much...

Did you get all her info? If she does not want to cooperate **** her over and go through insurance, she probally has a few claims on her record already. Which might be why she does not want to go through insurance.

thanks guys, i briefly talked to her today on the phone, gonna meet up tomorrow and show her some estimates. she'll probly have a heart attack when she sees them. if she doesnt wanna pay cash up front and keeps procrasinating, i'll just go thru insurance. not too worried. besides, i know where she lives
here's some pics(if they work)
theres a few other little scratches, but didn't bother
btw, new pics in members rides

WTF?? another person hit by another idiot in edmonton? **** i'm sick of this **** where the majority of the drivers out there suck. but you know who usually gets blamed....us the ones who like to modify are cars. **** not even it's always the young people who get singled out. then you get this **** where some old lady is sucking from an oxygen tank and needs some new glasses crashing into other cars.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, except I was side swiped by a 58 year old sales man in his jeep, while he talking on his cell phone, and didn't shoulder check. Cop tried to tell me it was only scratches and to quit whining and go home and buff them out. Well, the cop wasn't too happy when I walked in with an estimate of nearly $8000.00 to fix all the damage. I believe his comments were to the effect of "You damn guys and your road rockets. Why don't you spend your money on something useful that won't get you killed. It's because of you that our insurance premiums are high. Having to fix your modified pieces of scrap."
Hmmm... To serve and protect... Yeah right.

well, sofar ive wasted over 7hrs running around for estimates, talking to insurance, filing police reports and talking with the lady. i think i can finally rest for a bit. she's flabbergasted by the cost of repairs(surprise surprise) and wants to go thru insurance. cost is bout 1800$ for repair, but i was being **** and pointed out everything, but im not paying for someone elses f*ckup.
so, on a side note, went to the police station to file a report(must do this for claims over 1000$). the cop was relatively nice, tho he seemed stressed out. we went outside to see the damage. i thought the estimates would be proof enough. guess not. strangely enough we went outside after a lady that came in commented that she liked what i did to my car. so he looks at the damage for maybe 10 seconds, not even that interested what im pointing out to him, more interested in the rest of my car. so he continues to walk around my car for a good 2 laps, inspecting everything. then he says that i have illigal headlight cause of no reflector. says its a 115$ ticket, let me go tho. what a nice guy. then goes on to say that "people with my kind of car tend to put loud exhaust on their cars and that i should stay away from that". i pleaded ignorance and said i wasn't thinking of doing that. funny how me being the victim turned into a preaching session. surprised he didn't mention my tint. to serve and protect indeed.
