Yeah. If you have no idea what your major is going to be, just go to a Community College for a while. You can get your basic classes out of the way, and it is a lot cheaper. Then you can transfer later.

Rep Power: 511 OU is nice. the city it self may be in the middle of no where, but they have absolutly everything you can think of inside the campus. there are tons of places to eat, all kinds of stores, movie theaters, recreation centers, places to hang out and just chill. just about anything you can think of, they have inside the campus.
im lookin forward to my OSU visit tomorrow and saturday. cant wait to see how that is

Rep Power: 511 OSU was a nice school and all, but im not a big school kinda person. i like the small community kinda place like OU had alot better, but that is just my opinion
I went to Akron U for 2 years, and then went to Ohio U for 2 years. But just going off other people won't help you much. You need to know what kind of school you want size wise, and first and foremost.... what are of class you want to get into.
Some colleges are great in one area, and suck in others. It helps to get a job in your field, if you go to a school that is known for being good in that major.
Like Northwestern - known for Pharmacy. You go there, and everyone knows you got a good pharamcy degree.
As far as campus -- OU is honestly one of the best. It is in the middle of no where basically, but it's nice. Very wooded, hilly campus. Lots of brick roads, trails, etc. If you're into outdoor sports, etc you'd love it. I went camping and stuff all the time out there.
Also if you like to use a rec area. Ping Rec center is honestly the best place I've ever seen. I honestly went there on a dialy basis my junior and senior year.
The only down side is that I wasn't big into the drinking scene. It is a biiiiiig party school. Every night you can go to a keg party for free and drink till you die if you want to. That's OU in a nutshell. Drinking is one of the biggest things at OU. Basically that is what people do in OU. You get out of class, and most people go uptown and drink. Weekends are basically a non stop party. You can just walk up the street and be offered to join a party basically. You either need to have a good head on your shoulders to know how much to drink, or stay away. A few of my friends went on academic probation because they drank so much there.
There really isn't a big shopping district, theater etc area. They have a theater uptown -Court Street where all the bars are. There is a theater like 10 min away. Shopping is basically nada except uptown shops. The mall is basically a joke. A few shops and that's about it.
We went up to columbus a lot to hang out: bout an hour and 15 away.
or.... lancaster, or parkersburg. Those are like the biggest cities nearby. Otherwise you've got basically nothing but woods. Hocking Hills is sweet if you like rock climbing, hiking etc.
Akron U was ok. It's a commuter school. A lot like Kent State in my Opinion. Not much of a college life on campus. OSU in my opinion is too big. I went there on weekends like I mentioned and felt pretty lost. Everything was so spread out and huge. Basically think of Columbus as your campus. My room mates sister goes to Miami and loves it. From what I hear the campus is pretty amazing. But it does have a reputation of breeding spoiled rich kids and stuck up girls. OU has some too, but they also have a larger hippy crowd there. Don't know much about BGSU. I never actually went to check it out.
also remember this. ===there are other places outside Ohio. If you know what field you want, go somewhere that will help your future. Especially if you want to move out of state for a job later in life.
If you want to live in Texas or Wyoming or whatever later in life, it doesn't help a whole lot when they look at your resume and see "ohio u". They will probably have no clue what kind of college it is. I ran into this when I moved to Los Angeles. They had no clue what ohio u was.
Feel free to PM me if you want info. and go VISIT the college youself. And when you get there, talk to people in that field. See the buildings, rooms, and see how big your classes are.
I was pretty amazed when I walked into my first Engineering class at akron U. 385 students.

Rep Power: 311 yeah you insert the bottle of 151 into the watermelon. you leave it in the watermelon and put it in the frezzer. leave it in there for 24 hours the watermelon will absorb all the 151 when you eat the watermelon you will be sooo messed up
I went to OU and graduated from Ohio State. I would have to say I liked the classes at OU better. And I really like the college town atmosphere, where Athens is basically just OU. But for some reason I decided I needed a change and went to OSU. I liked it there, but it was just too big for me. The business school was real nice and it is one of the top rated ones in the nation which is good.
