OU is in the middle of no where and all the people that have gome there complain about their being nothing to do.
OSU is ok, but I've seen lots of people have problems there with fights and asses breaking into cars and such.
Xavier is an ok school, but if you are coming down this way you should just look at going to UC.

well if you pick an area you want to go into, that would help. you say engineering, you can cross off BW and probably a couple others. stick to arts and sciences and that opens it up more. picking a college you will be happy at (but can still get work done) is key for undergraduate. picking a college for name and where it can get/do for you is key for graduate.
visit some of the campuses. it helps a lot

I love OU. I got accepted there but ended up staying in-state. The campus is beautiful IMO and everyone i know that goes there really likes it...
I got accepted to Baldwin Wallace, but i don't really like that school too much...

Otterbein sucks.
OSU's good if you don't know what you want to do. We've pretty much got every program under the sun, so you don't have to transfer if you change your mind. Our business school is also quite good (and very well funded, as you will see if/when you tour).
I've got a couple of good friends at Miami, and they generally like it, but complain about snobby/spoiled rich kids. It's a cool place to visit from time to time though.

Otterbein has much smaller classes (65 in my largest class I will ever have) How big are those lecture classes at OSU there Greg? 400? 500? But you can get that at any private college in Ohio. Also, Otterbein will have the same business accreditation as OSU making it the 4th school in Ohio to have it. Otterbein also has one of the best Education departments in the state. But if you don't really know what you want to do, I would probably go to a larger school that offers more programs

well yeah, general classes are big, but when you get into your major, the attention is still there. once in your program your classes will be real small...

you actually get any applications yet? i'm sure you've gotten plenty of mail from schools, but you might want to request info from schools you like too. most of their prosepectus material (dunno what to call it) will tell you what majors they offer too, might help you get an idea.
personnally i hate the pressure to go to college and pick a major right away. most of us didn't honestly know what the hell we were going to do, and i know a lot of people who seem to change majors religiously (i only did once, but it was a doozy). if i could do it over again, i'd like to go to a school where you do take a couple semesters before you can declare a major. just something to consider
