Jackson Racing SUPERCHARGER - update
Jackson Racing SUPERCHARGER - update
I emailed Jackson Racing to let them know I was interested in a Supercharger for the01+ civic. This is the response:
"Thanks for your interest in our line of Jackson Racing Products.
Unfortunately your application is still being worked on. Please check back
with us sometime before the end of the year..
Oscar Montoya

The promising thing is that they say it "is still being worked on". While that is a pretty generic response, it is better than a "We have no plans to release such a kit" type answer. So atleast it looks like there is SOME potential. In my opinion three production years (01-03) of our vehicles is enough time for the market to have grown to a point where this type of thing is now becoming viable.

Sorry to say guys, but the last time I talked to JR they told me that they sold the 2001 civic EX they bought to use to make parts. So unless they just recently bought another one, or got some one to allow they to use their car, I really don't see it happening. And, you e-mailed them asking about the 01+civic. Meaning 01 and up. In the next two months they are releasing their supercharger for the 02-03 SI. So they might have thought you where referring to the SI.

ok, tell me how a full jackson racing supercharger kit only took .2 seconds off of a modded DC2R 14.7 stock, 14.5 supercharged, now he runs a 14.2 i beleive (captain will correct me) with just a few bolt ons

You state that there will never be a supercharger for our cars like it is a cold hard fact. In actuality, it is your own negative speculation and opinion. Unless your middle name is Nostradamus, I highly doubt that you could be so well informed that you can make that statement with such bold authority.

I know Chevy and Honda have been trying workout some kind of deal. Saw it here and on one of those auto news sites. The saturn was suppose to git the D17 engine. This goes along with Chevy trying to improve quality.
Like I said its all rumors. If another company carries has our engine, the hopes of a fruitful aftermarket will improve.

We need to do something to get Jackson Racing's attention. Like someone said it, if there is enough demand for it then they will build it. Unless you people talked to Oscar himself, then there is quite a bit of chance. I would rather have a Supercharger than a Turbocharger seeing that Superchargers are better for daily driving.

I agree. They are easier to install, easier to remove (if need be) later on, and better for low end torque (roots blowers anyway).

Yup, ******.......
What prikes, I just e-mailed them, but now that I saw the response the other member above got, mine probably won't matter either.
I know our cars stock aren't the fastest but they're not terrible. All I have on my civic is full cat back exhuast, dc sports header and injen SRI and it's a lot better than it was the day I bought it home, it was like walking it was so slow.
I think just being a civic and with all the hype and media around them they'd come out with one, they have one out for the Ford Focus, come one, seriously...

lease: If you realy wont to have a supercharger made for our car your going to have to do two things. One give them a car that they can play with and the other is front the cost for RND. You give them 20G and car to play with they'll do it. Its all about money. You gatto show them that your for real. Anybody can email and write letters....

I think they already had a 7thgen Civic and then they decided to sell it because thy where just not going to bother trying to come up with a super charger for it.
At this time, I doubt I will turbo my civic. Too many issues, no big name manufacturers, and only reasonable gains.
If Jackson racing, Whipple, Vortech, Paxton, or any other large supercharger company had a unit for less than $2500 that added atleast 50HP I would buy it right now.
The simple reality is that one DOES NOT EXIST and there have been zero announcements/rumours regarding plans for one. Am I dissapointed? YES. Will the future bring a kit? I don't know.
Some people point out the lack of engine room for a supercharger. Any engineer knows that can be overcome. Others point out that maybe prototype kits gave lackluster gains. It would have to add atleast 50HP to be worth $2500 (IMO). And some point out the returnless fuel system in our cars. The RSX and Si use a similar if not same returnless fuel system and have supercharger kits.
People say that with enough money... blah blah blah. But in this case that's exactly what it boils down to. IF the consumer market (us) would buy this kit in a great enough quantity then they would make one. Simple capitalism prevails. You know, supply and demand. If enough demand exists, then THEY will supply the product. At this point in time the marketing gurus at those respective companies must have deemed that said demand DOES NOT exist.
Can we change their minds? I dunno email them and see if it makes a difference.

Maybe when the Big Boys find out about all the 7th gens going custom or buying these pre-fabs, they will want to jump on the boat. They can clearly see for themselves that the money is out there for it (it's still early for TC'd 7th gens.... there's got to be only a handful).
Same would probably happen in the case of an SC, if anybody had the skill to custom make something like that. Companies want to see money in the market before spending Thousands on R&D for something nobody is going to buy. I say, gather all of your serious buyers names and email addresses and send them a long list from 7thGenCivic.com. Gather a shitload of people in the area for SEMA and rally lol.
Just my opinion.
