im waitng a while before i decide. The SF has a bigger turbo and the TD is cheaper. The SF has a fule system and the TD has an extra injector. The SF allows more power gains than the TD but its still too early to tell. Im just happy its starting to become a reality. I know Catalyst has ahd his on for a while and has put over 3k on his turbo and its still runiing great no problems. The TD i think ill wait to hear whats going on with it.
Since there are clear differences in the two units (as stated above) You'll need to decide what your looking to get out of the turbo. Biggest gains with high boost- seems like SFpower. Low boost and probably very reliable (ball-bearing turbo) - lean towards the Turbo Discounters.

The SF kit has been extremely reliable for me. I have had 4 SF kits, and i have never had a problem. Nothing broke, nothing stopped working, and nothing cracked. Both kits have a warrantee on the parts, and both manifolds are made to where the possibility of them cracking is slim.
I made 165 hp and 166 ft/lbs of torque to the ground at 6.5 psi of boost. And that is not at sea level, i was at 2800 ft. And it was around 80 degrees. At sealevel and at, lets say, 60 degrees, you can pick up 20 hp or more.

alright. We had to completely take my system off of my car to duplicate it. The only thing we left on was the fuel kit ( a 10 min install) and the oil pan. The rest of the kit took us less than 2 hours to put on. I believe a shop can do the entire kit from start to finish in 3 to 4 hours.
But the entire point of this kit is so you can do it yourself. I mean, you dont even need help from a friend. It is a 1 person job that can be installed and running over the course of a saturday afternoon. And that is counting several beer breaks.
Thats a beer for every hour. (while installing a turbo kit on a new car you dont want to be too drunk).
