Swap the D17 for an H22?
Swap the D17 for an H22?
So I was thinking about going with a k series swap but after some thought I decided against it. I still want a duel cam VTEC because I still want to get around 400 to 500 hp. Now money isn't my issue it's time, I plan on doing all this in a span of a few years but I was wondering if an h22 would be a safe route

H series are older than the chassis, can give you legal troubles. Why H?!?
Moved out of SOHC section
K is easier
since money is not a problem, just buy a car with an K series.
350 WHP is around the limit for a FWD to be road driveable, beyond that it is hard to control if not impossible, unless you don't plan on driving it on streets.

Well luckily where I live I don't have to worry about legality or emissions so there's that and I'm working on this specific Honda for many reasons. Buying a new car would defeat the purpose. And as I said I was just wanting to know if the h series was comparable to the k series

And for H swap parts into this chassis.....non-existent. You would be designing your own engine mounts, H to D adapter plate or take the H 5 speed, figuring out how to get an axle that works, exhaust, wiring, fuel, etc. The H is old and still uses a distributor as well. Aftermarket parts are nowhere near as plentiful as B or K series. There's a reason B and K swaps are much more popular.
If you're serious about an engine swap, K is the only real option. Swap mounts, axles, and harness adapters are all readily available.

That’s one downside of this chassis: little to no aftermarket relative to other civics, which also makes it pretty expensive.
For this, it’s really K or bust.
