First Civic build, what are good engine swaps?

In may i bought myself a little project car. Something to keep me sane and get me into the beautiful world of imports. I don't know much about Honda engines so bear with me please.

I'm looking to swap out the D16 engine for a VTEC, something that could mount right up to the set up now, and something i could turbo as well.

I would love to hear some feedback. Thanks guys.

Check out www.hasport.com for engine mounts. Pick your model/year and it will tell what series engines they make mounts for.

Once you find the different series then you can start doing research. Lots of info online!

You posted in 7th gen, so i am assuming you have a 2001-2005 car.
Unless you have European/Asian market civic that uses a D16/D15, no, you cannot installe a D16. 7th gen are D17 and it brings troubles if they find out that you installed an older engine to your car (emissions related and the engine code is hard stamped on the block, so easy to spot).
