Vtec sawp help

well, my D17A1 finally gave in so i am trying a vtec sawp. the car is 02 lx with 5spd tranny ecu and harness. i purchanced an 03 ex D17A2 engine with an automatic ecu and harness. is there any way to make the auto harness and computer work in the 5spd. i can pull and replace engines easily, i just dont know which tuning combination will work with little modifications.
thanks for any help..

Re: Vtec sawp help

You could just swap the head from the A2 onto the A1 so you dont have to pull the whole engine. If you wanna just do a complete swap you can modify the auto harness to work- https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...sion-swap.html look at step 12, this will allow you to start the car with the auto harness. Theres a way to make the reverse lights work too but i cant remember what thread that was in. Search for it.

Re: Vtec sawp help

Is that with the vtec automatic ecu in the car or the original one from non vtec 5spd?

Thats with the auto ecu and harness in the car. Basically what you're doing is tricking the car into thinking you're in park. Whether it will have the 4000rpm rev limiter that an auto has in park while you're driving, i have no idea. Theres tons of stuff on this all over the internet. Search is your best friend.
