Re: boosting my dx
I just noticed you've been with the site for 6 months, given out some solid advice and you still had zero rep points. I got you started with a bit of rep, keep up the good posts and spread some rep around
Re: boosting my dx
im might take up triz on his offer for the valve springs...i got his ex head with intent to use a stage 1 cam...but if i need kpro i might just do that and set boost on the back burner for a while...at least untill i get the springs and cam and kpro. maybe my suspension done first too. im tryin to get some tokicos and rsx rear sway bar and neuspeed front brace

RSX sway bar is worth it, the car is twice as much fun in the corners for $50-60. Great mod!
Re: boosting my dx
lol yeah. i hope this guy in the market place pms me...$330 shipped for all 4 tokico blues?! ill take it lmao then i already have megan strut tower braces
ohh kinda off topic from boost...but how much of a drop would you recommend? ive got 17s and about 3" of room between the wheel and fenders. i guess i could roll the fenders but id prefer not to. how hard would rolling them be anyways?

Re: boosting my dx
Rolling our fenders is hard, the rears actually need to be cut inside. 1.5-2.0" lowering springs are the perfect drop, both for appearance and functionality, but below 1.8" starts to get a bit hard on the tokicos.

Cause it cost me a lot
My chain and my watch
They say time is money, but really it's not
If we ever go broke girl, than time is all we got
And you can't make that back, no you can make that back so
Let's ball while we here
Let's ball while we here
Like ain't no tomorrow, like ain't no next year
Drink away all our problems, make it rain with no care
Like I'll make that back, **** it I'll make that back
Go

but ive made my decision i will save for kpro and a stage 2 cam...and after that see if triz still has his springs and retainers.
then ill figure out what to do about boost.
Re: boosting my dx
First, k-pro is the best idea you've had yet. Second, wait on the cam, get the car boosted with k-pro first.
However, if you want your car to be fun, the best bang for the buck in my experience is suspension, not power. K-pro first, suspension second, boost third, then the cam. Skip the tokicos. Get a reasonably good set of coilovers and sway bars. Tokico blues are meant to be stock replacement (I used them, they suck). Good suspension is the difference between a well balanced, good handling car and an econobox that rattles your kidneys out.
So, that's my 2 cents.
Now if you want a really fun car, sell the civic, trade it for a miata. Add good coilovers and sticky tires.

Pwn... Just my 2 cents... My first setup cost under a grand and ended up running 180hp on 9psi with emanage blue... I ran it on stock everuyhing for over a year while i saved up money. With a good tuner emanage will work fine for low boost. Vtec becomes an issue so i let the stock ecu run that! If u have any questions brotha... Feel free ta hit me up! I also have some spare parts if u need some!

Re: boosting my dx
Don't go with stage 3, you want a stage 2. The stage 3 will give higher overall gains, but the power will be focused around the top of the power band, which isn't good on the street. A stage 2 kicks in at lower rpms and continues across the entire power band. Very few people go with stage 3 for that very reason, they are not the ideal dd cam.

Just my 2 cents, but if I could do it all over again, I wish I would've listened to the people that told me the same things I'm telling you. Have fun with it either way.

Re: boosting my dx
If I could go back in time, I would have bought a Miata, it's the ultimate budget tuner car. Going forward, s2k or Z3/4 M.
Lots of people think of del sols and 4ws ludes as some of the ultimate early gen Hondas, and they're pretty awesome cars. That doesn't change the fact that they're heavy, fwd and command a premium since they're a Honda.
That all said, I'll always love my em2.

haha I love my em2, she's like a child to me, imperfect, sure, but it's unconditional love. I could own a Ferrari and it would be just a car, a nice car, but still just a material possession. My em2 is my first car, the car I learned to drive in, the first place I had sex, the first car I ever worked on.. there's so much sentimental value attached to her it's unreal. <3

Re: boosting my dx
idk why but i LOVE del sols. ive driven a miata and it was nice and all but something about the del sol makes me want one. id take a del sol over an rsx or miata or even a 2010 mazdaspeed 3. (my cousin has one lol) BUT it HAS to be dohc and in good condition. theres plenty of really nice del sols around here but their all riced out and automatics...or sohc
