ok i recently seized my 02 lx civic , so now i need to swap. my knowledge on the subject is rather limited. the only options ive heard so far are either a d17 swap or a k20a3. are these my only options and if so what are the pros and cons of each?

You can swap in any K-series engine or a D17.

Pros of a D17:
It's cheap and a simple swap.
Excellent mileage.

Cons of a D17:
It's slow and hard to make significant power gains.

Pros of k-series:
Over 1000whp potential.
Limitless aftermarket support.

Cons:
$5000-10000 price tag to have it swapped in.
28mpg and lower mileage.

I feel like I just went over this a minute ago lol.
D17: Cheap (co-worker had his replaced parts and labor $700), can make about as fast as a stock EM1 and EP3 si for around $1000 (intake, header, full exhaust, stage 1 cam). The money you save by not doing a swap can go into suspension, wheels, brakes, style, etc. The downside being your capped around 130whp without going turbo or spending a ton on stage 2 items and k-pro.

K20A3: Has so many options for gaining power. Downside being the price.
