KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect
KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect
ok. So I hoped on the standalone boat and got myself a hondata KPRO...finally. No more emangle for me! So now that I have kpro, I want to get every bit out of it I can.
1st. I see there is an optional boost control solenoid. Has anyone used this? I would think controlling boost by the kpro would be the best option. Not to mention by gear and soon to be by rpm!!! Not out yet though...so I read.
2nd. Rufus has a 05 hx wideband 02 sensor for sale to monitor afr's and use kpro's lean protect feature. I have an 02 civic w/ narrow band sensors. Hondata shows how to rewire your 02 sensors for closed loop operation. Well closed loop operation would require some level of afr monitoring would it not? Do you think it would be well worth upgrading to his 02 sensor? Plus I have an AEM Wideband gauge with outputs for most stand alone. Does KPRO have an input for aftermarket widebands? If so cannot use this to monitor lean protect?
Hoping alot of experienced KPRO users can chime in
Thanks....

I know Andyman is running the Hondata EBCS, but he says you're a douche and he won't help you lol.
Also PLX devices makes a wideband gauge that has an input for Kpro... the M-300 Tuner Edition. I also believe Andyman is running a wideband from PLX devices.

^^^ LOL!
Avery you can get the boost solenoid on eBay for $50 - same one as the AEM one, just not AEM branded.
Dunno about the wideband bit. I'll just wire my PLX one in when I get it.

Re: KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect
And yes, even short shifting on a stock bottom end (or misshifting for that matter), I'll still walk away from your whopping 190 whp.

Re: KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect
His bitch had to come in and start ****.
*sigh* - Ya andy I dont work on cars. I only do what you pretend to all day long for a living? Thank you and your butt buddy for ruining another otherwise potentially helpful thread!
No it's not. This is really getting ridiculous.
I don't misshift on my other project car....400whp+ 92 civic...let alone my 190whp civic. Learn how to shift.

Yes, your -1 trader rating gives you so much credibility. Any moron with a tool bag can work on cars all day and not know what they're doing, plenty of would be mechanics out there just like that.
Learn to shift? That the best you can come up with? So clever and original.

Re: KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect
wow, don't you think I've already tried that? I was just asking a question and trying to get some opinions. Ya know using a forum for what it is designed for? It seems thats just everyones response anytime anyone tries to ask any sort of a question around here. Thank you for your comment though?

Re: KPRO Boost Control & Lean protect

Ya definitely go kpro...don't even try standalone. It might take longer to get but it's worth it. Only way to start a build. I wish It was out when I first started.
